What's the type of this loco?
Also give me what railroad it used to run for, and its number.

It's Greenbrier, Cheat, And Elk #1 at the B&O Railroad Museum. It was made by Lima in 1905, sn1519. As for railroads it was on before, there's the Cass Scenic Railroad, Midwest Raleigh Scrappers, Mower Lumber Company, Greenbrier, Cheat, And Elk, and Huntley Lumber Company. It never really had a great life under ownership of the Cass Scenic Railroad.

Correct. Actually, its life at Cass Scenic was not really anyone's fault. one of the boiler courses broke and, at that point in time, the upstart railroad didn't have the money or resources to repair. so they traded it and a 0-4-0t for WM shay #6 which has many importances such as being the biggest shay still around and also the last shay ever built.

The only reason I said it didn't have a great life was because it sat on the deadline for years rusting away. Also, I think #7 was the one with boiler course issues. That one's my favorite.:D Anyway, here's the engine.

What is it, when was it built, and what railroad originally owned it?
