Graphics engine

Has the graphics engine been upgraded for TRAINZ classics?
If not, when is this likely as I feel the engine is beginning to look dated.

You mean little things like being recompiled to use DirectX 10 or even 64 bit code?

I think Phil means more integral things such as the lighting, shadows, reflections and the handling of alpha channels etc... which IMO need a major upgrade.

If this is the case, I think the graphics engine remains largely unchanged. There were a couple of shots showing tree shadows but I think they were actually built into the textures for the section of road they covered.

The new road vehicles have working headlights but this is nothing new to TRS. In all honesty I haven't seen TC bringing anything new to TRS yet.

Cheers

Thats exactly what I mean Jivebunny.
I feel the engine (auranjet2?) is in danger of getting left behind by more efficient engines with better effects. I think this alone would help to give the whole TRAINZ franchise a boost.

I like the current engine. Not too heavy. Which means I can run it on my laptop. :D

Just kidding... it has to be better... it's very... uhm.. half life-y... :p
