Have you tried switching between DirectX and OpenGL? However, that's a pretty low-end system. Trainz still has the main CPU do most of the work. Let me put it this way: if I had to choose between upgrading the CPU and upgrading the card, I'd definitely upgrade the CPU.

Hi,

I recently had to replace a failed 3 year Video card in my second computer with a Nvidia GT 240.

I had problems cleaning out the old card's drivers. Just using the Windows uninstaller wasn't enough.
I had to use a Registry cleaner ( try http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner )
then download the latest drivers from Nvidia

If you don't completely clear out all the old video cards software and registry entries it can cause all sorts of problems.
