Gradient Problems

Every time I build a 1.6 percent grade another section of track goes to 1.59, 1.51. 1.57 or to that effect and it's pissing me off. Why can't I get a continuous grade without something else being upset by it? This is happening at one of my tunnels and it's about to make me have an anger outburst here shortly.

if it is 1.6 you made it then it’ll show 1.60 or either -1.60 if it goes down. I think you should use the Terrain option to make a grade then I think the tunnels will fit with the grade if it is a spline

Tunnels don't react in the same way as track. All graded track allows for some flexibility in that it curves when joined to flat track, like in tunnel entrances or industries. The transition from one grade to another is a slight bend.

Ok first question did you make the grade

If you have then all you have to do is Level The spline which is a option you can find on the track menu

I'm using Surveyor 2.0.
In S2.0 apply the gradient to the spline endpoint.

If you apply it to the spline itself then the gradient would be as per your example 1.6 in the middle with 1.61 on one end point and 1.59 on the other endpoint. At least that is what I get.

If you apply the gradient to the spline end point then all should be good.

Kris, if you have 2 pieces of straightened track that you set the grade on both to different gradients they will fight over it as there's no transition. Straighten Track works the same way for grades as it does for curves.

I'll take that into consideration. By the way, that's not my name.
