Grade X-ing at any angle

Thanks for the guide. This allows for a very flexible system of customising crossings.

The one thing I must ask though, is if anyone can suggest a way of incorporating the necessary road markings at these crossings? I have found a painted "STOP" (KUID 106916:10261) on the DLS which theoretically can be applied over the road surface, but no painted lines to go with it.

Kind regards,
Ian

There are 7 original assets to the full ATLS. Only 4 are needed to control Level Crossings. There are several add-ons, some by other authors.

Use V2 for all Trainz versions. The Stopper is the only asset that is not V2

All (well most) is explained if you download the pdf Tutorials at www.boatztrainz.co.uk

Thanks again, Boat. I didn't want to get myself in too much of a mess from the beginning if I got hold of the wrong stuff or a wrong version.

Hello, Ian. I see you are in South Africa. I don't know what region you model or what the road marking standards are outside of the USA. You can search Xing stripes, RR stripes, ect. Just get creative with your keywords and something will come up. There are also roads that have versions with stop lines. I think they are still splines an you have to place a short segment that has the lines and attach them to the matching road. I just reinstalled Trainz so I no longer have them to reference them for you. They can be found though. Again, get creative with searching keywords. If you get no downloads, shorten the keyword to just the 1st few letters. I check the boxes for all versions of Trainz, and set the category to all. There is a lot of stuff to scroll through, but I get good results.

Thanks for the suggestion motorbreath.

Since I don't model prototypically or for a specific region (I create layouts that "look nice" to me) I can kitbash using virtually anything I can get my hands on.

Using your suggestions for search criteria I have already found many possible items to use.

Kind regards,
Ian

My current development is a prototypical roadface system for level crossings and stations. The objects are not function as level crossings, they only covers the tracks/roads. ;)

Great stuff, bekaember. Keep'em coming. :Y: And marvelous timing ;) A perfect complement for Approach_Medium's splendid idea.

Interesting using the fixed grade xings instead of BNSFs NRC type., I can see how that works well with aligning a proper spacing for the gates........

Aside from the obvious "why are you bumping a two year old thread!!!??!!" statements that are sure to be following soon, I've never seen this before or thought of this. It is actually a pretty good idea! You have a whole pre-assembled grade xing that just has tracks running through it at a slightly odd angle. It is a pretty clever way to build the crossing without having to assemble a bunch of parts. I like it! Much as people will complain (they ALWAYS do!:hehe:) I'm glad this one got bumped!

Hi All!

Really... it is a quite old topic...:)
My roadface objects will be updated. The final result will be a flexible level crossing system and a road system.
The original roadface models were made 4 years ago. They were my first models... They look terrible now :hehe: I must update them.

NickieFoenshauge,
Thanks for your nice words. :)
