GP7 gear ratio.

I did it because I was asked to.

My "normal" consist is around 2960tons with 3 to 4 GP7s depending on grades

2960tons + 4 GP7s (1500hp*4=6000hp) and with mass of the locomotive 106 tons (this is 26,5 ton on a one axle). On the 0%-0,2% track grade this is easy for acceleration, but if using 4 GP7 and take 6800 tons, you'll see differences between both results.
In any case, DDC mode not to showing real result, because config use only 3 tags from engine spec, as well Engeneer mode take from spec all tags, their more then 30 psc.
1000-1500 tons with 1 GP7 is okay, on the 0 grade.

Any suggestions?

By my calculations:

Train weight (US tons) * 20lbs * grade (percent) = Required Tractive Effort

2960 * 20 * 2 = 118400lbs

Continuous Tractive Effort of a GP7 is 40000lbs

Therefore you'd need 2.96 locomotives to pull a 2960 ton train up a 2% grade.

So I use 3, but find I loose some speed on long grades - in that case I add another one, usually pushing at the rear.

As far as DCC is concerned, you're fine - it accelerates and brakes realistically and that's all you can really control aside from top speed.
