GP7 gear ratio.

ha ha ha! thats cute. What about running a GE? Those things will randomly combust into flames! So uh yeah, I aint ranting either but I would feel safer running these things with a bomb suit on.

So were there any changes/updates made? I bought the MKT GP7 about a week ago and also noticed the acceleration seemed a little fast.

I will update engine specs for GP7-9/B soon. Will changed only container for DCC drive mod. For Engeneer mode will changing nothing.
Watch for updates my engine specs on DLS.

Could you post the kuid we should be looking for an update?
Sure, later, i'm not home. When i will update, you can see this automaticaly in your CM.
Other content from me you can watch on DLS under my kuid #506034, (name starting like "EMD engine spec ....")
So i will write in this topic, when updated specs for DCC mode.

How's that updated engine spec coming along?

All is well. Yesterday i uploaded ver.1 and today i'll will upload on DLS ver.2 under kuid2 with fixed DCC mode.
I'm think this will take 1-2 days with approval.;)

Thanks. I'm having trouble finding it. Can you post the updated kuid here so I make sure not to miss it?

Alex, I have another question for you.

I'm not complaining, as I'm loving the GP7 (I bought the MKT one).

I notice when looking in the window, that the control stand seems to be the angular box that is normal for a GP9, rather then the round stand that is normal for a GP7 (same as in an F7).

Was this a choice to match the Auran Geep interior that is used, or did MKT have that later control stand?

Hello,
Yea, but some locomotives had old EMD control stand and many have new EMD control pannel. For inside interior i used new EMD control stand. Because i'm can't to guess which interiors was on each of 1000 locomotives. Therefore i did inside cab like attached mesh.

But later i will do custom cab's for GP7-20, with new and old control pannels, not for inside model of locomotive. I'm think this is not critical.

Alex

Thanks! I just wanted to hear what your thoughts were on it.

I look forward to a custom cab for it - right now I'm "kitbashing" one together from Auran pieces and parts.

Hi Wearsprada,

Your uploaded content listed below has been approved and will be available for download within 24 hours.

EMD GP7/GP7B enginespec <KUID2:506034:7879:1>
EMD GP7 enginespec without dynamic brake <KUID2:506034:7980:1>
EMD GP9 enginespec without dynamic brake <KUID2:506034:837844:1>

New versions of GPs specs was updated yesterday. Try this. DCC mode was fixed.
Don't forget for more realistic control you should use Engineer mode. ;)

Just got it, and I thought I report this.

In CAB mode, run 8 pulling some long train whose weight I didn't record (sorry) I was maxed out at 40mph on a totally level track (large oval I use for testing)

When I issued a "Drive" command, I got up to 65mph +

Of course AI commands use DCC mode...

Me need mass of train and grade track factor.
In engineer mode I did all calculations is well. :)

Can you put freight train 2400 tonn under grade in 0.2‰? I'm can't and this is right.

In DCC mode i can changed only scale factor of acceleration and level brake, nothing more.

Well I'd say you've done a fine job.

"0.2‰" <- what is that? 0.2%?

So that would be a 2% grade, correct? (That's the only way to specify it in the game)

Oh and that's 2400 tons as shown when you right click the engine and view details? (as in 2400t in tow)

Ok.

Original post, was with 2960 tons in tow (obtained by right clicking the locomotive and choosing "view details") on a 0% grade.

I did your test today,

1 GP 7 with 2398 tons in tow (again, obtained by right clicking the locomotive and choosing "view details") on a 2% grade.

Cab Mode: Would not move, Notch 4 when taken to Notch 5 wheel slip, even with sand on.
DCC Mode: Moves, but barely - got to 10mph at around 20 mins when I ended the test, it could have gone faster but I didn't let it run.

I guess I should put some loads in the boxcars I was using. I had about 765 tons in tow, according to the right click. You have three times that amount plus a little extra. I am not surprised it wouldn't move then. I got mine up to 56 MPH.
