Gotthard Tunnel through Alps closed due to derail

I saw this recently. A freight derailed sixteen wagons in the tunnel. It sounds like it may be closed until 2024.

Fortunately, the tunnel is now open to traffic again. The closure was much shorter than expected.

The Gotthard-Tunnel hast two tubes. The tube, in wich the derailment happened, is still closed for several months to come. The other tube was opened for freight trains. Passenger trains are running on the old tracks higher up.
