Google Earth and Other Tools?

These may be noob questions, but, what are the tools for building new scenery and so on? And is there a tool that uses Google Earth for recreating real world tracks? Finally, is there a way / how do you expand the size of the canvas for building a layout? Thanks.

Layout

I am not aware of any tools that use google earth. But if you go into routes, and then choose one and select sessions, you can edit or create a session there. Once you are in edit mode, then ALL your tools will be on the right side of the screen

Check the Payware for a thread about TranzDEM. It is a standalone program that does what you are asking.

When creating a route, look on the Topology tool panel for the little icon at the bottom left next to the word Section. Click on it and then click in the empty space next to the existing baseboard to add a new baseboard or canvas to use your term.

Look up GMAX, Blender, 3D Studio, they can all create 3d Objects and have exporters to create the files that Trainz needs to use them in game.

several people have created objects that you can reskin to bring in Google Earth images to use as a Surveyor guides. Do a forum search

In the 2010 Topology tab, select Add ground and then click the empty space past the edge of an ixisting baseboard. A new board will appear. You can add as many as your computer can handle.
