Goodbye Trainz 2006

Hello Guys I am starting a Post called Goodbye TRS 2006 because of Auran
Stopping support for all versions below TRS 2009 (I think). I wanted this so people can post screens of their memories of TRS 06 to show the new comers how great this game was, and how it shaped the trainz world. I myself will post some pics, and I also have a tribute video in the works so look out for it coming and thanks for viewing ladies and Gents!!!!:):):):):):)

Looks to me like everyone out there thinks TS2010 is the cats meow! So better snap up TS2010 now, cause 2011 looks to be more like Windows Vista!

It's only goodbye for some people. Others of us have far too much content to consider switching.
The only reason I am doing this is for the newer members to get a look at what the old game looked like I'll still keep it but I mean as far as me purchasing Payware I am going to have to upgrade soon.

My emphasis in red.

Hi corycoen,

Out of interest why did you single out TRS2006?

Some of us use even older versions.

There's plenty of route and screenshot work still being churned out from legacy versions, particularly TRS2004, with evidence for all to see throughout all of the Screenshots threads.

Surely new members can see those results in all of the separate screenshot sections. I don't want to sprinkle on your parade, but I think that legacy users will continue to post under their particular interest. Furthermore I believe that they are unlikely to stop and say goodbye.

I think it's a fine idea to celebrate the capability of earlier versions - but we can all see the results of that every day on this Forum.

This thread makes it sound, well ... kind of final.

I'm not saying goodbye to my version!

Cheers
Casper

Strange. I remember when TS2006 was the worst thing Auran ever published and not a patch on TRS2004. Now some people are getting all nostalgic about it.

I got trainz 2006 back in august of 2009 before i started my freshman year in high school. Now i have TRS2006 and TRS2009 and if I had to choose, id pick TRS2006 over 09

2006 is what I use. You can bury yours, I don't care.
Mine works fine, with the exception of being booted off of the DLS by Auran. That's their way of saying thanks for your loyalty and letting us sell your content.

When I have a computer that will support the hardware needed to run 2010 I'll make the move, but that's not going to happen for a while.

My Question is why are people giving hate on this it's me saying you know this game will be out of production soon and the DLS won't let you download with it. I was doing this out of respect not slandering it.

My Question is why are people giving hate on this .....

Unbiased answer... the whole conceptual topic of stopping older content has been done to death on these Forums. Also, it has been "done" for some time now, and people can easily interpret it as dragging the saga out needlessly.

I personally don't have an issue with your post!

well hopefully the tribute video doesn't create an uproar

It's nothing to with hate, but if you don't know this is a touchy issue with many then I'm not sure where you been.

I don't need to be reminded about being denied access to something that was originally intended to be a free resource with lots of people donating their time to create content for Auran and the community while asking nothing in return.
