GNER Class 91/1 & Class 43 MTU

I have been using the above mentioned rolling stock originally created by PeterDHicks a long time ago for many years thru 2009, T:ANE & 2019 with no problems until recently. I now find that with a long train (7 Mallard coaches and two locos) that when it reaches an AJS station it rolls to a stop, but immediately starts up again hence ignoring the load command. Eventually the load command times out and the train continues, but this could be down the wrong track as the next destination has not yet been activated.

I have experimented with different station types but it only seems to happen with the AJS ones. I also reduced the number of carriages and when there are only two + the locos, it then works alright. I have tried it on different routes but it is always the same.

Has anybody else found this problem and if so come up with an answer ?

Hi Tony, check if the station is long enough
there are many different stations and hidden stations
another thing to check is the maxdecel setting in the enginefile of the loco
if the value is too low it can overshoot the station
hope this helps

Hi

When I have experienced a similar problem I found that if you add a "Halt Train" command directly after arriving at the station before the command to drive to the next location it seems to cure the problem.

Other things that I have also found to work is make sure the station setting is set to "large station" and if you are using a track marker is to move it ever so slightly backwards.

No idea what causes it and why these workarounds have worked for me.

Things to try!

Hope that helps.

Thank you GM & Steve.

It now appears that the enginefile has been changed to payware and is therefore unmodifiable in the Class 43.

With regard to Halt Train, I have placed it in all available positions after the Drive To command, put in track markers but nothing makes any difference. As soon as the train comes to a halt, it immediately starts up again before executing the Load command.
I have also tried making it a Large station but no good.
Any other suggestions ?

Tony

When you place a loc in surveyor/session and do view-details the ? property screen
you can choose another engine file, for your loc, choose 1 that you know stops good

For an industry station(with passenger product), I mostly use the <kuid2:75377:84:1> Load At driver command
its Drive to + Load in 1, makes your driver commandlist a lot shorter.

Hi Tony

Only thing I can suggest as a test is try using a different train asset to see if it behaves in the same way which would confirm if there is a problem with the consist you are using or something that is maybe corrupted in your route.

If it is the route you could try deleting the AJS station and then reinstalling and setting it up again - that has also worked for me previously when I had a problem (in conjunction with using the halt train command)

Also make sure the station is set up with a wait command (I set mine to 15 seconds)

Hope that helps.

Steve

Good Tony, but it would be best if you repair your class 91 engine file
the one I have here <kuid2:116035:91040:1> Class 91 [Engine Specification]
open it for edit and check these values:
brakeratio 55000
max-accel 3800
max-decel 12500

these 3 are used under AI, compare them with the same specs in the config you use now (also open for edit)
make them somewhat similar and then try the 91 again, think both accel and decel could/should be higher.
