My first Aussie Creation this is a NSW PTC WSC Sleeper Wagon.

Few more details to put on it then off to the mapping department.
Cheers Mick.:)

hey arraial, I'm not sure how to ask this, but how can u reduce the polys in 3ds max? I'm working on a project, and I have "It's over 9000+!!!" verteces. Is there any way to reduce the poly count by any chance?

hi, ...

@mikey186
Select your Modell and use the "Optimize" Modifigator in Max Menu Modify/.
This reduze the Polycount.

Hi mike are several ways to reduce the polys like Ice and scawlb909 says, the optimize modifier and the multires, however you know they are mesh´s with 9kp not optimized and optimized a 9k polys can be a object very high poly or with the same polys can be a very low poly depends of the type of the object you made and the objective of the same object and the type of geometry building in origin, if this 9kp have already all geometry very optimized and you try to reduce polys with multires says like 30% this can lead to a mesh destruction form but if the same object dont have this geometry optimized you can have a good reduction with the multires modifier at lest 50 % activating the maintain base vertices in multiress modifier select with the mesh already selected and play with the crease angle values to. optimize modifier can have a good effect to but this must be make before aplay the uvw because sometimes all uvw coordinates are destroyed.
Also they are a independent programs to reduce polys very powerful like... Action3D Reducer Pro
http://www.action3d.net/
And this one very good i use sometimes and works directly with any max .... 3D Photo Browser 10.04 is not only a multimedia textures converter and 3d viewer have also a polygon cruncher the better i already see working. mootools.com/
this is the 30 days validated completly funcional Demo of the same tool.
http://www.baixaki.com.br/download/3d-photo-browser-standard.htm

this shows how to reduce poly in a already workable animated biped model so forghet the physique modifier in the modifiers list apllayed at your up right.

Thanks you to Kamran.
when i upload the boats you need to know the boat shadows must be underwater at lest 1 meter to give the effect of dark below the boat. The boats have balance in the water but not the shadow.

HI Ivantr , yes you can, you must made a m.reflect material apllay the diffuse texture and a reflective hdr texture and give around 20 to 30 value in the reflective slot remember to save the reflect texture in bmp rgb 8 bites format and that's all, specular light or shining at middle and value around 40.
for more information about materials see this link
