Llooking at your build times, Paul, I thought I was getting quicker, but then this diesel is my first loco (and it took a lot of searching to get much info on it).

about 18 months to get this far (but I did stop for 6 months)………

minus another couple of months working out what’s in the cab, and how to do it (still figuring some of that out).

A demo for a friend that I started while on holiday, about 4 weeks

a challenge from a friend who works at the GWS Didcot, 2 weeks (simpler chassis).

I’m finding it’s not the meshes, it’s the other bits and pieces that slow me down, and the goalposts are shifting quicker than I’m learning.

I know it’s been said many times before, but thanks for the brilliant gmax loco tutorials Paul, I wouldn't be getting half as much enjoyment out of this without them. Hope your new blender ones start many new builders on their way.

Chris.

Wonderful work, Chris.

Amazing to see someone new - I use the word new with hesitation - working on complete projects.

Finish the UVWs and some good textures and you will have some amazing work to share.

Paul, how many things have you made like that that have then collected dust? :p

14, 15/16 etc? ;p
Making them is easy, finishing them is hard. In the last 3 weeks I've completed the meshes for the LNER Y7, LSWR 700, LSWR Saddleback tank and the LMS 7F. I've also built bogies for another 9 locos. I'm more interested in learning how best to use Blender now and writing tutorials than actually releasing anything.
