GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Loving it, the both of you! Those two 4-4-0s are looking spectacular; the simplistic details on the Alfred the Great make give it a sense of realism and I can almost feel the reversing lever under my hand in that cabin...

Lol, I quite like Dusten's 2-6-0 and Ed's 4-4-0 as well Dan. That cab is great and I really love the color of the Alfred The Great.

Keep up the good work, both of you. Hopefully soon my first creation will be able to join the ranks of models by much more skilled creators than me, although obvioulsy mine aren't as good.

Will a wheel do?

LNWR Alfred The Great looking good.

The lettering on the cabside number plate doesn't look quite right, I think it needs to be a bit bolder:

These are some I cobbled up as I couldn't find a suitable typeface/font anywhere. Do you know where one can be found?

Only a suggestion,

Rob.

How abaout this? The font is "Engravers MT". Before I was using "Century" which is my go to font for old looking serif text.

That's more like it - nearly there!

engraversMT

I think the 3,5 & 7 are too different, the others OK.

I have made a True Type font of LNWR plate numbers, here's a couple of examples:

and

(fictitious number for illustration purposes only)

The font was made using an online font generator:

@edh6: If you wish, I can send you the .ttf file, you have PM.

If not, the website may be of use to you (and anyone else for that matter!)

I have had this mesh in the works for a while... 9000 points to whoever guesses what it is first! (Hint Hint :hehe:)
This first screenshot was taken in Sketchup about a million years ago... I was intending to post it in this thread, but never got around to it. Until now....

After I took this screenie I added a few more details and imported it into blender. (after about a week worth's of frustration I finally got it ported from Sketchup into Blender) I then began to add A LOT of detailing, and new parts to eventually get this. Note: this side of the model is practically complete, the other side... well, not so much.

That screams UP 9000 class, look at the piping on the side and front of the boiler.

Good luck on finishing that, I think Trainz could use another 9000 class...

Cheers,

Lego207 got it right. Furthermore I plan on releasing it when I get it finished, also, I do intend to release it as FREEWARE.

I am glad that all you guys like it. However, I can foresee a couple challenges that may come up in the near future with this project.
1. Exporting the mesh and it's bogies into .im and .kin format. (It is an absolute pain to get the exporter file(s) installed into blender.)
2. Animations. I have had quite a bit of experience with 3d modeling, but with animations I am still an amateur.

GE Brasil presented its new narrow-gauge locomotive (1000mm) in 2014 for Klabin and Rumo. This is GE ES43-BBi:

The first locomotive to leave the factory, won a commemorative painting, in honor of the president of Rumo/ALL, Julio Fontana in Brazil:

It's not being too easy, but I hope it will be rewarding in the end!

Since my last model was of a tank engine that spent much of its working life in the East Midlands, it's time to start work on something completely different- a tank engine that spent much of its working life in the East Midlands.
