GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Sure. When the boiler pressure is in the operating range they are green, when it's low they are white and when the boiler is about to blow they're red.

Getting them to change colors is dead simple. It's the fact that an LED cannot in any sense hold a boiler together under pressure; I doubt they'd even be able to do it not under pressure.

Air compressor and motion added; next should be some frame details and reverse linkage.
WOW, looking very nice, loven that detail :Y:. I don't know how you manage to do so much in such a short amount of time, it just seems to happen so fast. Will this be available for purchase when finished? Cheers.

G'day marinemania,

...the version of Trainz is irrelelvant to the version of 3ds Max that is capable of being used to create assets for the game. The determining factor here is the version of 3ds Max for which the good programmers at N3V have created exporters and I regret to say, that at the moment, this IS limited to 3ds Max 2012...

Wow, if only these 'led' bolt lights will become realistic in the near future. Nobody even invented it yet even with today's technoligy (with RFID, HomeKit, smartchips etc).

Yep. I don't think any N3V developers will be able to make a latest 3DS Max plugin in the near future. Train Simulator 2015 (formally Railworks), has every year releasing a new product along with the latest 3DS Max plugins. If they can do that, why not Trainz can? Since like you said, only up to the 2012 version will be supported. Fortunately, if you use Blender, a plugin STILL works with the latest Trainz standards (even on T:ANE which I don't have YET).

Hi Mikey186
We may look into producing new exporters after T:ANE is released, however the current exporters do cater for most of the features at this time. Unfortunately, producing the exporters is extremely expensive, since it requires us to purchase each version of 3DSMax as it comes out. As we're an Australian company, the current 'public' price (just looked it up) is approximately $5100AU... This becomes very costly to purchase every year, just to produce new exporters for free...

I've been experimenting with baking a whole loco for the first time. Whilst I'm still not entirely happy, and will continue to fiddle with the settings, the results are good!

For a first attempt at baking a whole loco, it looks great! Once you manage to find what works well, that's all that matters when you bake texture's. :)

Wow that tank engine looks nice. Love the two whistles. Wish there was a way for it to have two seperate hornsounds. The whole bake looks okay. I guess I can use the bell feature as one whistle sconce the loco has no bell. Looks great in works grey, I can't think how good it will look in blue or maroon.

I'll be sure to include a fictional blue livery for you! Actual liveries where, brown, "Madder Lake", "Crimson Lake" and black.

If you have K&L Trainz' s NKP Berk and know your scripting, it can be done!

Doesn't matter if you have the berk, there's a script library that supports it on the DLS. :p Instructions on the Trainz Wiki for how to do set up dual whistles reference said script library.
