GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Great start on the Dean Single, mate. The wheels look like they might stand to be a bit "rounder", but it'll certainly be something to pick up when complete.

They're a quick swap in the end, for now I'm just watching the polygon count as parts start to appear. :hehe:

Lovely Dean single! You'll find Victorian locos need lots of polys, it's all those nice looking curved bits!

I had a quick thought of trying to apply subdivision surfacing to certain objects, then use the result to generate a normal map to keep the quality high and poly count reasonable. I'll need to try it...

More work with the Pannier Tank (Duck) Loco done.

Great looking Dean Single LNERlover5.

I have a very good F.J. Roche diagram of the locomotive and tender if you'd like a copy.

If there's a chance you wouldn't mind transforming it into a Midland Spinner, I have a diagram for one of those, too. I like most anything Midland Railway or LMS and I appreciate any Single locomotive no matter what railway it comes from. :D

I had a go at one once but I don't think I did too well.....

Thank you for the offer, however I'm already using F.J Roche drawings! :hehe: A neighbor of my Grandparents provided me with a book full of them!

Would you mind sending me the Midland Region diagrams if you are able to? I love anything Midland Region. :D

I'm not interested in any other region at this point in time.

G'day Trainboi1, LNERlover5 and S301,

@LNERlover5,

...indeed, Jack, your Deane Sterling is looking magnificent, although, as "saturnr" said, the D41 is a beautiful design and one which is close to my heart...

@Trainboi1,

...which makes your rendition of this 4-4-0 design of great interest to me. Needless to say the work you have displayed is above reproach but my own beloved "VR" (the Victorian Railways - the state run railways of Victoria, Australia), built similar locos to an almost identical design. These were known to the 'department' as Aa Class locomotives and here is a render of my recreation of these engines (a work in progress for some years, now)...

VR_Aa_Class13.jpg

...here, she is resplendent in the so-called "Canadian Red" livery in which these locos were originally released. Like yours, my creation also comes in three different releases, as you see it above with a 'standard' six wheel tender typical of the day; in the slightly modified "Canadian Red" scheme that was applied to them about ten years after they were built, at the same time they were provided with the 'new' higher capacity bogie tenders...

VR_Aa_Class14.jpg

...and as they finished up, in 'standard' "VR black" (with the aforementioned bogie tenders)...

VR_Aa_Class15.jpg

...unlike yours, however (at least as far as I can tell from the two images you have provided), my models come equipped with fully functioning, inside, Stevenson's Valve Gear...

VR_Aa_Class16.jpg

...these models are, potentially, only a few months away from being released...

@S301,

...the work on the M Class is progressing extremely well, there, Zec, although I do have to say that when I first saw your most recent image, I thought the "Billy" was just another bucket (before I had a chance to read the text to be corrected), so might I suggest that you make it more obviously a "Billy" by adding some water to it or by putting some tea in that water or by adding an appropriate lid to it. It also took me a while to 'observe' the mugs, despite knowing of them beforehand (it's always possible that textures will overcome these issues)...

G'day Jerker,

I thought that I would take the time to politely point out that the Dean Single and the Stirling (Not Sterling, in this case) Single are different locomotives.

This is a Great Western Railway Deane Single, designed by William Deane, and is the locomotive LNERlover5 is working on:

And this is a Great Northern Railway Stirling Single designed by Patrick Stirling:
