GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

G'day ATSF854,

...you wrote...

..."...Thanks for the comments guys. The triangle count is currently at around 27,000. The mesh has been worked on since the last render, but here is the other side including the rear..."....

...to which I respond...

....that's even better. Without the bogeys, a figure of 27,000 polygons is readily acceptable (I was fearful that it would be much higher). Well done!...

...however, I must be a 'harbinger' of "bad news" . I see from the image of the 'driver's' side, that you have located the Staff Exchange apparatus at the long end hood end of the cab (opposite the position of the same device on the firemen's side. On this class of locomotive, I regret to say, the Staff Exchange apparatus on the driver's side was situated at the short end hood end of the cab - immediately behind the door (on the opposite corner to the fireman's side). Where you have located the apparatus, would be under the spot where the driver's seat and control stand would be located in the cab, making it impossible to gain access to the apparatus to work it under normal circumstances...

...by the way, if you haven't already done so, there should also be an identical 'pig screw' on the firemen's side (in the hole in the side of the cab in the first image of yours, above) and both of these devices should be set up to 'point' in opposite directions (if I recall correctly, the one on the fireman's side pointed toward the short end of the locomotive and the driver's side was opposite to that)...

Jerker {:)}

Hey all,

A flat car built in the USA, but was assembled at VR Newport Workshops 1925, some of these cars are still around today.

Cheers.

Of an engine made by a 14-year-old? Ha!

Just to show these actually get finished. The grey nameplate is due to (I think) the ARN choosing a number in the 100,000s. There were only 6.

aww nice, looks great in trainz
Plus I think I need to up my game, im the same age and I dont have much to show for it 3d model wise :p
@Sean accually its just a trigger, hopefully it meets the standards of who im working for. ;)

Haven't got $1700 AUD on me, let alone air fare...:( Pity. It'd be great fun to see all the models I make:
http://www.strasburgpa.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/National-Railroad-Museum.jpg in Pennsylvania
http://www.talyllyn.co.uk/details/no-4 in Tywyn, Wales
http://www.buzzrail.co.uk/aboutus.html Home to one of the surviving 10-12-D class
Etc. Not that all my models still exist in real life, or even have a known photo!(V&T #24 served the Western Pacific for 15 years, she was the only Mogul on the line, and no photo exists of her!)
