GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Of course not :p The locomotive is only around 25k.. the trucks might get lod seeing that they are 14k a truck, but its only freeware and it runs great on my pc :hehe:

...yes, Auran Jet.

 Auran Trainz Simulator's Jet engine is a highly developed rendering engine that we have not even begun to use to it's total potential.

As for gmax, the Trainz Content Creation Studio is the only current exporter for gmax & all rendering is done in-game.

The Content Creation Studio is the only .im exporter. gmax will only export .gmax files otherwise.

Earlier today I visited the ShipSimulator website & noticed a forum thread about using the Quake gamepack to export a file type that may be useful...

my r142 renderd ^_^ i just used this program i found i dont like blenders render function =/

I don't know. Grafitti is considered vandalism, so I would think not. And those are stainless steel trains, so it's pointless. But anyhow, I found that rendering program for Gmax. It's called Gmax Render Suite 1.0. It's in it's third beta release, and it's vailable here: http://www.knochlet-development.de.tt/

But, if there's an R142, we surely can't forget the R160.

Would someone here using Gmax and Rendersuite be willing to give examples on how they set up their model to render and look proper? Possibly post (somehow) a Gmax scene, (or at least several images, top, right, left, front) of where the lighting goes and WHAT kind of lighting they use? I can get it to render, but the lighting and camera angles (mostly lighting) are all wrong! Also, background information, (color, images...) would be helpful too. AND any setups in YAGMAX or RenderSuite that they have found useful.

NOT looking for in depth instruction, just want to be able to display my art properly. I'll post something tonight on what I did, but the lighting isn't going to be correct....

Believe me, I better than anybody should know what is vandalism and what is not!

HaHa:hehe:
I'm good at designing graffiti, however I've never done it...really.:D
No actually I suffered from vandalism after the Monticello Railway Museum was recently vandalized and I've had a vehicle spray painted living in a town where spray painting is a game and police love to eat!
Visit Tuscola Illinois sometime...
Glad I moved to Tennessee.:)

Tbryson, that is a wonderful steam locomotive you have going there. Hope to see it released soon. :) Were the stacks really that big?

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

You mean the sand and steam dome? Yes they are! If you do a search for Jim Bowker on this forum you will see a thread for the project and some images of the real engine.

Keep in mind the lighting in my renders are wrong. Still learning how to do that! Also, I forgot to add the front bogey! (Shame on me!)

This is my latest (and possibly greatest) creation.

No it's not a real GWR pannier tank, but it is an outside cylinder 24in gauge version of one.

I'll take that as a compliment (thanks, it means a lot coming from one of the best); I've been having a proper good look at Paul Hobbs' tutorials and have discovered the lathe tool, and have also taken a peek at the World of Trainz tutorials and have mapped it much better than before.
