GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Well, after my question about the availability of a blokschrot (ingot) wagon on the freeware forum, there doesn't seem to be anything that resembles what I've had in mind. So I fired up blender this afternoon and had a go.

Needs some work on the boogies still.

;) :p :hehe: :o Nice looking wagon there. Although, it might just be the angle, but the wagons doesn't look long enough to efficiently use 6 axles...

Well, the reason for that is twofold. You're right, its isn't long at all, a little more than 10 meters, approx 30ft. As others said, one reason is the payload of approx. 150 tons including 1/3 for the car itself, and another is the abuse it suffers from dropping the load in. These two, plus the added effect that in holland the ground isn't that hard, so the very high axle pressure would make it nescessairy to make the tracks and the whole layout that more heavy fundated. This makes it an easy choice to go for this kind of axle arrangement.

Btw, glad you like it.

That Nohab looks amazing! (And i hate european stuff :hehe:)

I really don't understand why they made the horn point down like that.

I know how ya feel Cozmo :) But then, there are far worse bogies than that one to make! he he :)

Thankfully... I've not had to do any yet!

Looks great though. Rather intrigued by that roof out along the long hood. Never seen that sort of a setup before :)
