GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

G'day davesnow,

...that's an exceptional shed, Dave, far superior to your usual fair (which is already way above average, I might add)...

...I wonder, though, if you might have inadvertently applied a smooth modifier to the concrete slab object, forcing the chamfer which should clearly be visible on the outside of it (immediately below where the metal siding meets the slab) to appear 'rounded' where it ought to be 'sharp'?...

That Consolidation is looking very nice. My gimme pig never noticed how much it looked like the 2-8-0 on the Moscow, Camden & San Augustine, #6 which was one of the last steam engines in mixed freight and passenger service in America (until 1965). You mentioned possibly an American version, might she be one version (she has an old style headlight, Baldwin cab, etc. just like this one,) though an oil burning tender and a bell between the similar to this VR chimney and the first dome.

Thanks :) That MC&SA loco looks like a good start. It's not overly similar (beyond the typical Baldwin look of the period) though. But I reckon I could use some of those features as inspiration for the Generic US version :) I intend to make it so that it can be re-lettered easily as well.

G'day S301,

...I think you may have outdone yourself, this time, Zec...

...I am wondering if that wonderfully modelled wheel jack 'thingy' ought not be added to the list of those things of VR origin that may be added to a locomotive by way of attachment points?...

Jerker {:)}

I might be able to look into it. :) Although they're probably better being part of the main mesh where possible, for performance reasons, as too many submeshes becomes detrimental to performance.

That Denver Union Station looks beautiful colorado71. Zec, I completely understand about the MC&SA 6 and the fact that they are only slightly similar. A generic US version would be nice (I would probably reskin it into an inaccurate version of #6 for my MC&SA route) for which I have attempted to #6 have custom made before.

Distinctive locomotive is distinctive. Those crankpins are really weird though; they're probably go through another six billion rebuilds before they're finally right.

That is a beautiful engine trainboi1. Is it a 4-6-0 or a 2-6-0?

I am pleased to say that the modelling is now finished for the V class (V499) mesh. :) This includes a heap of pipework that has been added in, along with a fair few refinements to various parts.

Now comes the fun part, mapping the textures! lol Then I can start getting it into Trainz...
