GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Most excellent work!

May I make a humble suggestion?

Take a look at BDNEAL's Undecorated SD-9 kit and consider doing the same thing with having the parts you need to move around on the model as attachments I,E, Horns, different fuel tanks, mu stands, steam generator, different roof fans Et Cetera.....

Even if you didn't want to make the additional parts, just having them as attachments would make it easier for others to make new parts for it.

By doing it that way, you could squeeze a High Hood GP7, GP7M, GP9, and a GP18 with 36 or 48 inch fans out of that model.

Also, you could make a second model without the cab and have GP7B and GP9B units.

ATSF had GP7B units.

My humble opinion is that if it is done this way and reskinning was allowed....

There would be a explosion of first gen geeps that has been desperatly needed.

I'll second this! I don't know if you got my PM or not opus, but that includes my thoughts on this.

I'm looking forward to the finished product!

Mine too!! :udrool:

Speaking of mapping I finally got around to this:

Now texturing...

and I'm definitely looking forward to this, too! I can see T&P, MoPac, and all manner of roads...even if I have to reskin it myself to get them! (Which I've already done with the VMD Geeps, but I might be able to actually share these!)

To answer a few question in one place that have popped up in several private messages:

  1. Completion of either the GP7/9 and RS3 is so far down the road, if they ever reach that point, that I can't really say where they will be released. I can safely say that they will not be going to the DLS though.
  2. As I said before my primary interest is on Southeast, particularly Appalachian, railroads so those roads will get priority. I'm backing off of route building since it's not my thing, but still expect lots of L&N, N&W, Southern, Clinchfield and so on.
  3. Finally, I want to get my rolling stock working in game correctly before even attempting to try out a locomotive. Stay tuned for an separate thread for those projects.
  4. I have yet to decide on a re-skin policy. Reading some posts by other members regarding re-skins has changed my views about how open to re-skinning someone should be.

Hope that clears up some stuff for those that sent messages.

off topic(ish)!

I'm backing off of route building since it's not my thing...

It's back on my list then! Interstate was the first route I ever started and I now have a TransDEM base done for it (courtesy of Backyard). The previous hold up was the total lack of quality locomotives. Since we look to be getting that fixed, if you aren't doing it I will. It is down the list a bit, but it's a pretty small route so once I get going on it it won't be too long a-building....
