GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

^Wish you had one of those for superliners.

-Joe

I don't know for sure about the superliner, definitely ex-ATSF high-level coaches though. Those were what the Superliners were modeled on so they would give you a good starting point. if nothing else.

I am currently splitting the 780 pages into PDFs by car, and indexing them by their Car Type, AMTK Number, and Ex-Route Number. Once I'm done I'm going to make a thread here or a webpage, I haven't decided which. This is an amazing resource for modelers of many diverse flags, there is another document I found that, paired with this, traces some of these cars I have plans for back through their ownership history. It's really remarkable.

I'd be interested in the High-levels esp if it had some of the varied styles like the step down coach w/ drumhead and or the lounge with the offset bar

I'll have the document split up and IDed soon. Bear with me I'm on page 469/718 as we speak. :)

Edit: It's done. I've got it posted up here until I get around to making a proper site to host it: Link

@Jbartus
Do you have drawings and measurements of the SP Daylight Cars or the NYC Dinner Budd Coach?? Or vintage cars. If you'd have them it would be too helpful. And if you want help with the amfleet check pages on this thread 125/126 .To get an aiolidea of what can be done near 25K polys and they can run smoothly with some well made LODs

Greetings

Hi ivantr,

Unfortunately I have only what was contained in the amtrak service manual at this time. If the daylight cars were transferred to Amtrak then you'll be able to look them up if you can find their road numbers. For your NYC Budd coach-diner, look in the list under "PC" which I believe stand for Penn Central. If you have a road number for the car in question, http://www.pullmancar.org/lightweight.pdf is a good resource for tracking passenger cars through their various ownership phases. I am contemplating starting a site for modelers to share resources on, so that we can pool our resources as a community because I am confident there are ex-railroaders out there sitting on maintenance materials, drawings, buildings, etc. and possibly sharing them with local people they know but, especially the old timers, have no means at present to share them with the modeling community at large. For example, If you know anyone in emergency response who's into modeling it would be amazing if they could somehow pull the railcar diagrams out of the OREIS and share them with the modeling community. At any rate, I'm going to mull over the possibilities for awhile before I make a move but I'm thinking it could be a pretty awesome thing if I can figure out how I want to do it.

Forget low poly counts! There is always Lod. :p If you think 7000 polys is bad for one model, then this model will make your computer burn itself.

Still very far from finished. Lots of details, pantograph, and a custom cab.

Note to self, check this thread and the one you have on the AMTZ forum before replying xD

Looking good, I wish I was making as good of progress on my Amfleet. I might be being too anal about details but I dropped a reference from the drawing collection I got into it and added a rail-level so I could see where I was at only to discover that my vestibule floor height is too low... along with several other things by association... but it matches the reference photos I used. And of course to fix that I have to edit like 60% of the sketches my parts are extruded from. :'(

But yeah I have no idea what my final polycount will be... that was without couplers bogies windows interior undercarriage details and the various clutter on the outside (vents and signboards and the door lights) so who knows where I'll finally end up. If you get a moment could you take a look at the thread in the Prototype Talk forum here where I have a couple stupid questions posted? Some guy tried to answer but he started talking about tires or something, and it would be nice if I modeled my couplers to match height with your AEM-7's

Hello cool bumper post will you be making anymore modern freight cars a coilcar with the hoods that come off and show the coils whould be nice the rrmods one doesnt do that.

I am sorry, but Train20, for the love of all that is good and peaceful, could you stop with all of he impolite nonsense and requests? If you have questions about if something has been made then by all means ask, but please quit bombarding everyone with requests and criticizing their work and such. I am going to be the first to say that it has really gotten on my nervs. I am not trying to be naty or rude, nor am I trying to hijack the thread or start some kind of flame war, its just an observation that I would really like you to take into consideration.
