GMax and 3DSMax (And any other modeling program) screenies/renders

Hopefully up for release soon, I have it in trainz. Now I just have to get my bogeys into trainz and finish the two other ADM Loco schemes.

And yes, it will be freeware.:)

Cool looking genset!

Somebody should recognize this:

Is this gonna be in Trainz?

I don't think so. That car has high polycounts; anything over 100,000 polys would give Trainz an Ice Cream Headache, unless you're computer was built by CERN :hehe: , or you're Enzo1, who got all those high-poly Porsche models into Trainz. Either that, or he made them all himself.

Anywho, I promised myself I wouldn't touch sketchup while on vacation in Maine, but after going to the Wiscasset, Waterville, and Farmington Railway and seeing that cute little 12-tonner diesel in the yard, I just had to model this:

Finally have got done with texture baking, and the error was a very easy stupid thing. After some work, there has appeared some tracks, but they need textures, very soon :D . The max polys is 1700 and are for the trainsition track. And there is more to come. Motor switchs, frogs, checkrails, crossovers, and all of this in thanks to cascaderail and his page of the PRR. Wich has lot of useful info and spec-ds

What's the best default lighting setup for 3Ds Max? Seems like my panels are giving hard shadows and are not a bright as I'm use to.

Thanks

I use skylight. That gives some good planar textures, but there are times that the edges looses shine, so they look like clay models :hehe: . Try making an AO bake, or using Omni lights or Free spots (targeted) .Good luck

Greetings

PS I am glad that you have entered in the 3dsmax world, as your MARTA cars are awesome. It would be good to see them with the new advantages
