Seeing that the DMU's are being made by rumour3, I wouldn't be suprised if they have functioning custom cabs.:)

My current little project...

what-is-it.jpg

It's a model of a VicRail (later V/Line) ZMF/VVEY modular guards van. Currently 14968 polys. I was hoping to have it under 15k polys, but doesn't look like thats gonna happen now. :(

Still need to add a few more small details, plus rebuild the bogies (should be able to lose some polys there :) ).
Zec

Under 15K? Have as many polys as you want my friend! 60,000 is usually the maximum.

Some people actually try to model properly still.

The more polys in a given scene the harder a computer has to process, thus making it slower.
In other words if you have a trash model at 60,000 the computer is working 6 TIMES as hard tp show that model as it would to show a proper model that is 10,000.

Not as Good as all you Rounders who are Just Plain Amazing with GMAX & 3DSmax & Blender and Such, but I get along well with my own Creations in GMAX...

Anyway, This little Lokie is Based off a Wonderful HO Kitbash Model, Modified from a Bachmann Norris 4-2-0 Model:

G'day All,

Seeing as young Zec is showing off his latest creation, I thought you all might get a 'giggle' (since the subject of the 'differences' between 3ds Max and Blender are "under discussion") from this, my most recent effort...

...it's an almost exact replica of the Victorian Railways (the predecessor of Zec's "Vicrail" and "V/Line" operator) Engine Shed (originally built in 1886) located in Echuca and although it is no longer in use, it has been listed for heritage preservation, so it still stands...

Looks like the elves have been busy ... nice and clean

:)

G'day Scitimar,

Indeed, the elves were most co-operative. Nonetheless, 'the old girl' is in remarkably good condition for her age, anyway, as this image of her shows...

G'day Scitimar,

Indeed, a "likeness" was all that I could aim for. With the polygon count already nudging 19.5K (far too much for a 'simple' structure but neccesitated mostly by the preponderance of those arches and the windows - which must needs be visible from both sides), it would have been nice to include some of the filigree detail (the corbels and the fancy brickwork on the chimney, for example) but I thought it better to 'restrain myself'...
