Glasgow passenger connection-unique?!

I live in the great city of Glasgow and we will shortly have 4 quite seperate passenger rail lines between it and Edinburgh, Scotland's two main cities.

(1). Fast shuttle every 15 minutes from Glasgow (Central) - Edinburgh (30 minutes in the evening) and takes under 50 minutes.
(2) Slow urban/rural from Glasgow (Central) - Edinburgh through Shotts every hour and half roughly stopping at a myriad of stations.
(3) Sparser long distance down via Carstairs from Glasgow (Central) - Edinburgh then East Coast.
(4) Where the suburban Glasgow electrics stops at Airdrie/Drumgelloch the gap from there to Bathgate and Edinburgh (re-opened several years ago) closed decades ago is about to be re-opened.

This means that there are 4 quite seperate passenger lines between 2 major cities. This must be unique? And just to be clear I am NOT talking abour routes running over the same lines these are all seperate from each other!

ps. And that fast Glasgow Queen Street express actually divides at Falkirk then rejoins offering an extra service.

well, it is more than enough, but it does mean that there are 4 different ways for me to get to Glasgow and back on the train, if were so inclined.

also, slightly OT, did you see First Scotrail are getting the new 380 Desiros?

Hi,

I thought I had well clarified the situ. They are all quite seperate tracks from each other going via different ways and I doubt if any other 2 major cities have such a remarkable thing?
