Getting the dkCrossing gates to work

I am a neophyte when it comes to Trainz and would appreciate some assistance. I have a route on which I installed 2 dkcrossing gates. I also installed a trigger on the track, which I know is working because I added a rule to increment a variable when the train approaches the trigger and it works. Now these gates seem to have some animation in them but how can get this to work when the train is approaching the crossing

The Dk crossings are easy to set up, this is the procedure:

1.Place one of the crossings (the ones with the track and road atachement points) and connect the track and road. Now give this Asset an unique name, something like "crossing01"

2 Place the booms and lights as required. Again give them an unique name in this manner;(assuming you used the name "crossing01"), booms must be named "crossing01boom1,crossing01boom2" etc.
The lights are named "crossing01blink1,crossing01blink2" etc. (do not use any spaces)

That is all you have to do to make them work.

Cheers,
Andyz

Thanks AndyZ for your help. Maybe I am dense but I installed dkCrossing 1t-90 and set up to gates, named those but the gates are always down even if no train is near the crossing. Do I have to do something to control the gates? Thanks for your assistance

If the items are correctly named as per post #2, it should work as I described.
Make sure that each item is uniquely named, and only use the "DKcrossing" items, you cant mix and match.
The crossing part is scripted to retrieve its name, and then search for items with it's name, extended either with "boom", or "blink" with a suffix to avoid duplication.
I only have TS2010 installed so I can't say for sure if this still works in TS2012, but things that work in TS2010, usually do work in TS2010.
Others may be able to test this for you.
Cheers,
Andyz.

Hi Andyz. I should have been more careful. Names should have spaces in them. Now it works as intended again thanks for your assistance much appreciated
