Getting rid of unwanted routes?

I purchased Trainz+ 2022. I have not installed it yet. Still running 2019 and now I have a bunch of new routes showing. I am not interested in these.....I only run my own feeble creations. :-) Can I safely delete all those that I am never going to use or am I going to delete a bunch of assets at the same time?

Deleting a built-in route is done by uninstalling it from the content store or removing the folder in the packages folder then running a DBR. The problem with removing the routes like this is you'll end up with missing dependencies because everything is packaged in a single group of files.

The other way is to search for these routes in Content Manager and disable the route by clicking on the route. Click on the Content on the menu bar, then choose disable from the menu.

This is the best of both worlds because you don't have the missing content but get to get rid of the routes at the same time.

Sorry, but that didn't work. I can find all of my homemade layouts, but none of those that came with the game.

In Content Manager, ensure all the columns are visible. You may not need all right now, but having all right now means you can use them later.

In the filters, you'll see Installed.
Click the small arrow to the left of that then the plus on the far right.

The filter will add a random category such as Asset Kuid.

Scroll that list until it says Built-in and change that to true.

Click the plus again and change whatever that is to Category. Pick Routes from the submenu.

You should now see only built-in routes.

In TRS22, you'll see Packaged. Use that instead of built-in.

Replace Routes with Sessions to hide those too.

I printed out what you said and still no good. Either I am too old and senile or your screen is quite different from mine because I still cannot find these things. Are they possibly just ads that can be eliminated? For instance: Dae-Dane, Belarusian, Brazemore, C O Hinton, Canadian Rocky Mountains, Cornish Mainline, ECML Edinburgh, Franklin Avenue, Healesville, and a bunch more.

Some of them are multiplayer.....is it safe to just delete them?

A couple of years ago, I deleted stuff that I didn't have any desire to use. After that, and losing tons of assets, I spent several days reinstalling them. I do NOT wish to ever do that again.

Multiplayer routes are not on your system. They are located on the server. To not view them use the filters at the top of your screen. Set "Source" to "Installed" and you will see only installed routes.

I usually ignore most all routes. When the Driver/Surveyor screen comes up the cursor is setting in "Search" - I just start typing the name of the route I want.

You can also launch from Content Manager. Set a filter that shows only "Installed" and "Category" = "Routes" - Click "Name" in the name column to sort the Routes alpabetically. To launch simply Right Click and "Open in Driver" or "Open in Surveyor."
