Lets see.

Mojave full route, done
NEC, Done
Muni, Done Several times.

Looking for Either good NEC routes and sessions
or
Metro stuff.

Any help would be great.

Design your own if your not happy with them, duh...
Besides that's where all the fun s at, don't ever think ive been on any built in routes more then once:)

In all honesty, you may have bought the wrong game then...... :o Half the fun of this program is the freedom to create without limitation...... However, if I may suggest, try a quick DLS seach for different routes?

cheers:)

If my "metro" you mean trams or LRVs, you might like Cabon City or Modula City v3.6 from Trainzland. For a somewhat NEC-style route, try Ohmtalbahn on the DLS.

But, ultimately, you're going to have to start creating your own adventures when you get bored with that. At least Trainz and the community provide the tools and know-how to do that.

Tarrenrocks to Georgetown by AX1970 has some good ones its on the dls (2010)
also try Weddin by footplatephil also on the dls (2006)

For something completely different, might I humbly suggest the DHR? It's not your typical 'urban' route as it is set in the Himalayas. It is over 55 miles long and has hundreds of interesting places to explore. The altitude runs from 540 feet to over 7400 feet. No signals anywhere on the line. It also has seven sessions where you can just sit back and watch trains run.

The entire route can be downloaded from this site:

You will not be bored.

Try any of Phil Skene's Urban Industrial Routes or Dave Snow's Ozark Valley. You have to set up the industries though. They are not set up for you.

Thats what keeps me going is the sessions. With specific Objectives to complete. I need something to do.
I don't like sessions for that reason. I hate to have someone (or myself) tell me what I need to get done and when. I like to run trainz when and where I want. But mostly, I spend my Trainz time building routes. Some from prototypes using DEMs, and others just pure fantasy!

I really think you would enjoy route building. There's so much you can do in Surveyor, and it is very intuitive.

I started my own route, its now turned into a small rail network with four diferent "lines"!! good fun to build your own stuff, ive also been working on orgonising all the trains that run along it

Well there's always investing 30 more dollars and having the entire world at your fingertips. Buying TransDem, learning how to use it (that alone will give you plenty to do) then creating Trainz maps from practically anywhere in the world should also keep you plenty busy.

Last night I decided why should railworks2 users have all the fun going from San Bernardino to Barstow across the Cajon pass. So I fired up TransDem and in about three hours I had all the DEM's all the raster maps and all the Google maps for the mainline between the main yard in San Bernardino and the main yard in Barstow. I spit out a test map and had it lay track and the elevations are spectacular.

TransDem should really be in everybody's toolbox if you want to get the most out of Trainz.

LOL... If it weren't for the route building in TRAINZ, I probably wouldn't even be a RailFan!:hehe:

`

I have a slightly used steam version of railworks2 for sale if you want it:hehe:

Just kidding I know that steam won't let me sell it or I would:hehe:

Sounds very familiar, Dan.

I started out with a simple "plan" that included to intertwining routes that were once competitors, yet partners at the same time in different periods in their development. As the route grew, the theme changed, and now I have a Northern Division, a Mountain Division, and a separate industrial railway that serves an extensive industrial complex with various industries.

Trainz is something that is made up of imagination, creative thinking, and is only limited by what you can do with your time and imagination. The only physical limitation is our computers at the moment where they have certain constraints on their physical hardware and operating system limitations.

Building your own routes

I never really got into Trainz until I started building my own routes in TC1&2 (Metropolis Modula City, since I am a light rail transit geek). Building your own routes is where the real creativity comes in. I open built-in routes mostly to explore once or twice and to get ideas, but then I spend 95% of my time in surveyor on my own routes and have been working on the same route since Sept 2009, often ripping entire baseboards out and improving, expanding, and modifying.

By the way, since the original poster mentioned Metro, Metropolis - Modula City from TC1&2 is built into TS2010 but I'm not sure if its in TS12 - but if not you should be able to d/l some of the great urban content it contains from the DLS.

Many of PhilSkene route have sessions that you can run. MidWest Central also has lots of sessions. Also if you look at dsl , category session you can get an idea of what route have sessions.

The UMR and its many versions have setup sessions that set up all the industries and a few trains running from mines to power stations. Just add you own trains and you can do pick up's and drop off's as long as you like.
