Georgetown-Tarrin Rocks Problem

Hi, first time poster and I hope I have this in the right spot.

I am currently downloading the Georgetown-Tarrin Rocks route by axe1970 and when I finish downloading a session I open it and look around it. Well, thats what I normally do........

So after I finished downloading the first session, I clicked on it, loaded it but it came uo with this message:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/trainman3801/4779072141/
ERROR: Map is missing or damaged.
Your selected route is damaged or is missing files.
Return to the menu and select another route.
This was on TS2009 World Builder Edition
(If someone can tell me how to direct link from Flickr would be greatly appreciated)

I can't open the route or sessions in Driver or Surveyor.

I think I know what caused it, when I was downloading, I would right click on something in the download helper window (CMP v2.0) but when it came up in the main list it was something different to what was named in the download helper.
E.G. I right click "Tankcontainers" in the download helper but it comes up in the main list as "gum 09 06m"

But, I don't know who to fix it. Can someone please tell me?
After seeing all the screenshots in the Australian Screenshots thread I really want to play this route.
Thanks.

Start Trainz and look at the bottom right hand side, it should say, BUILD XXXX, the XXXX's are the numbers that should show there, and will tell us which build you need.

Hi there Trainman,

Georgetown to Tarin Rocks route was build with TS2009 SP2. You need to patch TS2009 to build 41844.

I had a quick look for a patch for you to download, but I couldn't find it. However I am pretty sure you can patch Trainz from the launcher.

Open up trainz to the first menu screen you get. Select options, then select the Planet auran tab. From here you should be able to select the "Patch Trainz" button. Hope that helps.

Ok, one step closer now:
This version of Trainz requires the August 2009 release of DirectX9.
The patch can be retried once DirectX is updated.
Patching aborted.

Now off to find DirectX.........

EDIT: Meh, I'll do it tomorrow, off to drive routes that actually work :P

What version of Windows are you running? You need the latest version of Direct X 9.0c. You can get it from the Microsoft site. Here is the link.

Microsofts site:

Directx 9.0c download:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/7/1/1718CCC4-6315-4D8E-9543-8E28A4E18C4C/dxwebsetup.exe

Pretty sure Directx9.0c is installed when you install Trainz. I could be wrong though.

axe, I am currently running on Vista. Thanks for the link:D

Hey mate,

If you are running Vista with the latest patches you should have directx9 & DX10 and if you are running Vista sp2 you should have dx11 as well.

Oh well. I hope this helps.

Hmm, you state ou are version 38411, so it should work. Make sure your antivirus is off while you install the patch at times (though never happened to me) it can cause issues. Other than that mate, I think a ticket to help desk might be on the card describing your issue to patch.

Help desk is from the top bar above forums click on Helpdesk to proceed with that if needed. I do hope it gets sorted, the route your trying to run is excellent.

Cheers

Still not working, tried like 3 times.

Now its saying "the Trainz Asset Database has been damaged and needs to be repaired" and I have to enter the CD key everytime I open the launcher.

When I get to the driver/surveyor/railyard screen it says I'm up to the next version, so I go to install SP2 but it said this patch is not applicable to your current installation of Trainz.

Maybe I should just uninstall Trainz and install it again? Or will that erase all of my downloaded content?

*Sigh*
Failed to apply the patch: 38411_to_40040
Patching aborted.

Anyone know why?

Do you have a lot of room on your harddrive? (Free space)? I think the patch requires a bit of room to patch. I think the patch uses the c:/ drive by default.

If you do reinstall trainz. Copy your TS2009/local folder and all of it's contents to another location before you uninstall.

To rebuild/repair the database you need to open up CMP (content manager) and select the rebuild data base function. (this may take a few hours to do.)

Regards

Axe

P.S: thanks Trent for helping out.
