Version 9 of the Great Central Railway, UK.
The route attempts to simulate the Great Central Railway, the Last Main Line in the UK, between Sheffield and London Marylebone. At present the route starts at Pilsley (just south of Chesterfield), passes through Annesley (just south of Mansfield) Nottingham Victoria, Leicester Central, Rugby Central, Woodford Halse, and diverges at Grendon Underwood Junction. The joint GCR/Metropolitan Railway proceeds to Aylesbury whilst the express GCR route proceeds via Ashendon Junction to join the GWR line to Princess Risborough. Currrently it teminates south of Haddenham.
GWR consists can access the GCR either through the route from Banbury at Culworth Junction, the SMJR line from Stratford on Avon at Woodford Halse, or via Ashendon Junction on the GWR mainline to Oxford.
Between Nottingham and Aylesbury the trackwork has been modified to resemble more closely the situation in BR days rather than the original trackwork. This should improve the opportunities for movements of consists etc.
As far as possible the route uses Andi06's proactive track., Protrack B Grit/Dark Timber.
The earlier version of the GCR route was designed to run in TS12, build 61388. It has now been converted to run in TANE, build 76401. The TANE version requires the use of PAYWARE assets, namely assets from the PLL Potteries Loop Line (highly recommended).
Please note that the route is still a Work in Progress and much work remains to be achieved with respect to scenery.
I would like to thank all the many content creators whose efforts have been used and especially the S&C and PLL teams. My thanks are also due to Mr. Brian Netherwood for much help, advice and support.
I do hope that Trainzers will be able to have fun with the route. All comments and criticisms will be appreciated.
I would like to take this opportunity to state that I strongly support TANE and wish N3V every success in making improvments.
