GameBooster Optimization for Trainz 2012?

I'm running Trainz2012 on a laptop and so far it has worked reasonably well. I have started noticing some performance lag as a layout gets more complex, however. So I have GameBooster 3.5 and was wondering if there are specific settings that are known to be best for Trainz?

Hi NJ; I used to use an older version of GameBooster with a flight sim. To tell the truth, I don't think it made even a little bit of a difference. I have not had any problems running TS12, it seems to run a lot better than the flight sim did. That's just me though, maybe some guys have had better luck with it.

I'd be curious to know what experiences other folks have had. When I was running Trainz 2009 on my previous laptop, it seemed to help. But when I look at the possible settings now, I'm not sure if there are certain things I ought to be looking out for or not? I guess I could just let it "default," but I'd like to get the most out of Trainz that I can.

I've only had very slight problems with TS12. Not enough to start looking for better performance. With my old flight sim, I would type in msconfig in the start box. I could see everything that was running at start up. I unticked everything except for sound and 2 Nvidia entries. I'm not really sure if this helped, but I believe it may have. My pc was offline at that time. That old flight sim (CFS2) could really cause performance problems, once you started adding to it. It was working very well with those 3 items being the only things running on the start up menu. I have never owned a laptop, so I don't know if this would help you.
