Game Broke?

So I got trainz 2009 the other day, digital download. Today through reading around downloaded service pack, after much other frustrations...

Anyway, install service pack, says that items are corrupt so it goes through and fixes those (I guess). Then it says to install another update, so I do install it. Try to run Train said database was borked again, fix it. Go to run trainz again. cool it starts up.

So now I am finally in, and go work on a map that I started the other day. Well as the map is loading the screen starts jumping all over the place. No control of where I want the map to go. the screen is just shaking all over the place. strange I think

So I go to driver map loads up fine (pre made). Play for a bout five minutes. So I close trainz down to see if a restart will fix it. Get back into editor, this time with a blank canvas. Still jumping all over the place.

Not sure what deal is. Video card is fine (9600GT) fresh drivers, 4 g ram so that isn't the problem. Running every other game my video game junky self throws at it.

I dont remember 2006 being near this much trouble.

Just update, it only does when you are in build mode, no other modes. Can play driver just fine, graphics turned up full blown make eyes bleed.

Also tinkered with video settings out of the game, still doesn't change what build mode does. It even does it when editing pre-made maps.

Greetings Longarm1,

It sounds like you tried a whole bunch of stuff to get it to work.

Had you tried switching between OpenGL and DirectX?

I too have the jumping issue, mostly only after I have done other stuff with my computer but it does go away in a very short time, 10-15 seconds. It does not seem to last as long or happen as often if I have just rebooted my computer.

Hope these ideas help you some.

Regards and good luck,
Lenny
