Funniest thing I have seen today!

This is from the guys at Railworks:

Really, gamepad support, for a trainsimulator?

Is it April first!!! Now that is truly hilarious!!

Harold

Funny really............ is it any worse than using a "qwerty keyboard" for controlling a consist. Neither of them represent the controls of any locomotive in reality. Therefore if you have a gamepad and Railworks have a version that will run on it why not use the controls that come with the pad?

Bill

Sorry, a gamepad, really. Worst controller ever.

Still laughing!!! The guy playing in the video doesn't even have a HUD.

Gimmee a break!!!

Hi Harold and Everybody.
I appreciate your point Harold although I have never used a gamepad controller. However, there are many that would say that a " QWERTY keyboard" is also the worst controller ever thought of especially when it comes to typing text (LOL). I can use Dragon Naturally Speaking to control Railworks, Tainz and Ship Simulator if I want to, but I bet there are not many locomotive engineers or ships captains out there that shout at their controls and expect to get a response...hahaha.

good thread Harold, nice to see some humour on the forum again, it has seemed to have lost that element recently

It is always a fun day when the Railworks people announce something.

Watching the "fanbois" say how great everything is going and counting the negative responses being censored in the Railworks world. Funniest show on the web.

Get a Raildriver, makes the trainsim world so much better. Worth the price.

Hi Again Harold and Everybody.
Running my own business I don't get much time for Trainz, Railworks or Ship Simulator these days, but for route building undoubtedly trainz is streets ahead of Railworks in that Department. However, as stated I don't get much time for that these days and I am looking forward to my first day of in two weeks tomorrow.

With the limited spare time I do have and at the risk of being " railroaded out of town" (LOL) I would have to say that at the present time my ship simulator is my favourite of the three I have. The graphics are great and you can quickly create missions as they are called providing you understand some of the functions and commands of basic programming although you do not have to use all the Syntax you would have to use when programming in basic.

Having said that, undoubtedly if I had more time then trainz would be my favourite simulator and I would complete my North Devon branch lines route I spent two years creating but that is not likely to happen in the near future. But then again tonight I bought and downloaded just trains "Bristol and Avonmouth route" for Railworks which on a very limited trial seems very good and 20 quid well spent.

Now wait for it (LOL)

I must say, there are things I like about both games(I do have to give number one to Trainz). I really think it would be cool to see a train simulator on some other platform besides PC. Just me thinking.

I looked into buying that but according to the forums, apparently you can't do radar plots or advanced navigation. I need a sim that can keep me current on that stuff.

I think the gamepad would be a good option in Trainz, easier that a keyboard and cheaper than Rail driver.

A gamepad can be mapped to any program. There is software to do that.

That is what makes it really funny. Railworks announced the game pad as "New Technologies".

Still laughing!!!!
