just ignore them, Sampug, and they'll go away eventually...

Back on topic...actually, there's not much we can do to continue this topic. 1522 no longer runs, but she can run again (like a couple of other steamers we know). It will just take a lot of time and money. Case closed.

all the frisco 1522 needs a good overhaul at the strasburg shops and start pulling passenger trains on the strasburg and run on the main line from strasburg to altoona and back.;)

Hi All: Thanks for the pics Robby very nice looking engine..The one on the DLS is also good looking but I don't like the Whistle sound it has or the engine sound..I've tried to change it by going to the Con-fig, but it dissappears once you have changed it..Anyway getting back to the subject..Robby you are absolutely right about the insurance, it went through the roof..BNSF would not let them run on there rails..They couldn't use or get some mainlines too use for there Excursions..I've read alot about this engine and it is really ashame not to see it run again..But I have it on Video, so I enjoy it that way(Napps included)..

Bob Cass:) :)
the whistle on trainz frisco 1522 sound like CRR 311 from the railway chronicals.:)

I take it that your going to pony up the money for all these restorations by strasburg because a nickel and a fundraiser with Johnny Cash's version of Hurt should get you a nickel less the cost of holding the fundraiser. Enjoy what we have now and support it. There are plenty of Operating steam engines that can use your support without trying to get another one going in this current fiscal climate. You want to get something going send a donation to 765.org to get the roller bearings on the tender so she can steam this summer.

NO IT,S JUST MY OPINION.:)

everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but you don't have to spam it all over the forum.
a song should be writing down about 1522 make it like johnny cash VERSION of HURT.:) in the memeory of frisco 1522 and JOHNNY CASH the man in black.

Yes and we should have Strasburg make a new version of a NYC 20th Century Limited Hudson to run and while they are at it maybe a New 2-6-6-6 Allegheny that can then run on all of NS and CSX trackage anytime it wants to for free. Of course playing Mr. Cash's version of Hurt on loadspeakers throughout the US.

Quiet you! You don't want to give him any ideas! :p

dpfan1, once again tell me. If you think it is such a good idea to make a music featuring 1522/261 to a music video of Johnny Cash's "Hurt", why don't you make one yourself, put it on Youtube and let us see for ourselves? In other words, putting your money where your mouth is

if i owned the 261 and 1522 johnny cash music would play thorough the train intercom in the passenger cars.:)

Has anyone ever thought of what an excursion would be like if Milwaukee Road 261, FRISCO 1522, Pennsylvania Railroad 1361, Norfolk and Western 611, Santa Fe 3751, Union Pacific 844, and Southern Pacific 4449 were all on the point? (laughing) That'd be a long excursion behind 7 steam locomotives all at once. (laughing) I'm only joking...no excursion would ever be that long and if it was let Pennsylvania Railroad SD35 diesels fall from the sky and taste like chocolate ice cream. (laughing)

yea it would be nice to see 7 steamers on each train. run from strasburg to altoona and altoona to strasburg. 261 and 1522 will not need to ns diesels to help climb the grade.:)

Strasburg to Altoona? Why limit them so much? with 7 steamers, you could easily haul a train from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles.

Heck, they could pull a train from Los Angeles over the ex-Santa Fe main line, then to Boston, Massachussetts via the ex-Pennsylvania Railroad main line through Horseshoe Curve and Penn Station before continuing on the ex-New York, New Haven & Hartford railroad main line. Besides excursions, they could take revenue freight between those two cities on a long (and I mean LONG) way freight train. With 7 steamers you wouldn't need any BNSF, Union Pacific, CSX, Amtrak, or Norfolk Southern diesels to help them. Two up front, three in the middle and two on the rear. That would be one bad ass freight train, with 7 steamers on one train with over 1,000 freight cars.

yes
