Freezing issues and Merry Christmas

This morning I went to click on the TRS06 desktop icon, (please note my edition of TRS06 runs without a disk) Then the starter menu showed up, you know the one with Start, content manager and all the other options. I then clicked on start the butten flashed green when I clicked on it and then it froze. I then Restarted the computer and then clicked on Content manager, it loaded but it was having trouble loading all of its menus so it decided to freeze. I have been having these problems all day. I even tried the disk but it still froze. Does anyone have the same problem? Any Ideas? By the way Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to all Trainzers!

To me that sounds like assets.tdx (and possibly assets.bku which is in the cache folder) is missing or corrupted- if you leave it alone during the freeze after clicking the start button on the Launcher for about 20-30 minutes (this is while it re-creates the database) , it may right itself and load into Trainz normally. If it doesn't, there may be other problems as well.

I would also be very suspicious of a hard drive failure. The system acting up all of a sudden like this doesn't sound good. Try running chkdsk /r from a command prompt, and restart your system when prompted to.

I just tried that and it worked! Thanks and to answer your question jsitron only trainz seems to act up my other games seem ok. I,m gonna defrag my computer though.

That's OK (if it's a problem I've had before, I like to share my solution to try and help others)
