Freeitcam

you've lost an 'n'. Its

-freeintcam

and you add the line exactly as above to the trainzoptions.txt file which is located either in the root install folder or the user data folder depending on which version of the sim you have installed...

I don't see the trainzoptions.txt file in the user data folder.
Where is the root install folder and how do I use the cam when installed?

In Driver press 1 and you will be in the cab, move about, and outside the cab using the KB arrow keys.

You can take great screenshots from the cab of another loco, by roaming outside the cab.

You can install BNSF Invisatrack paralell to a rail line, and chase a train, taking videos, that can not be done equally as well by using tracking mode (KB 3 key)

Some drivable assets have no cab (like the A23 Jet Sled) and are excellent screenshot taking machines

BTW in Surveyor Alt U, or Alt Y are great walk about for taking screenshots

I tried but it doesn't seem to be working as the only way to move around the cab is with the normal buttons.
How do you get out the cab when you are inside the cab and what are the KB arrows?

In your trainzoption file you type at the bottom of the list, on a new line (the minus sign is needed):
-freeintcam
If you don't have a trainzoptions file, one must be created (some else one may be able to tell you where to place this MS Notepad created text file).

The KB arrows are the keyboard arrow keys.

In addition to these you can use the PageUp/PageDown keys to raise/lower the view, and the mouse (turn the view by rotating the mouse while pressing RMB, and zoom BIG-time with mouse wheel).

Have you tried dropping and reloading Trainz after making the already stated changes?

I got it to work in the game however the engine you use it on looks messed up while the others look normal.
Is there any fix for that by chance?

No..... the cabs have only what you would see inside the cab, as everything ells would not normally be seen therefor it would be a waist of time making it.
Some cabs do have camera positions outside the cab by pressing the [] open and close square brackets. try other locos as not all have them.
The -freeintcam is only any good for positions inside the cab or carriage.

It's good for getting good screenshots because of the gentle control and stupendous zoom range with the mouse wheel.

The "disembodied" loco effect can be a bit of a nuisance, but you don't need to look at it. If you have the patience you can always move a very long way away from it, or go behind a tree or building so you don't see it anyway.

Just a thought, has anyone made an invisible loco/cab which could be used? Presumably, you then wouldn't see it at all.

I have got to admit, this setup works very well, and fix's constar261's problem, the cab is very small so there is no problem running up to the buffers, I find it a little hard to get in the cab with the mouse though, I did notice that, when it is on it's own, if you use the coupling key the couplers don't show, but do show when coupled to an engine.

I included my invisible cab in the Driver Setup list in Surveyor.

Then, when in Driver, it can easily be located and used via the Driver Selection Panel.

I get this error for the invisacab
Error: Unable to load mesh file: 'invisible_car_shadow\invisible_car_shadow.pm'
Is there a way to fix this?

I use TS12 sp1 build 63188

Yes you need Pev's tools. you can find them on shaneturner12 web site you need PM2IM once you have run that, then you need to change the .PM mesh to the .IM mesh in CCP (Content Creation Plus), post hear if you get stuck, but I'm off to bed now, but I will look on in the morning, and help you out if no one ells has offered to do so. but I am sure someone will.
