Hi.
I'm not sure where we should post forum problems, but in IE 9 on my Windows 7 laptop I get a " sorry - no matches" message when I click "New Posts".

A bit silly, no?

Known issue - I had to turn off Protected mode, restart IE, turn it back on, then restart again.

Based on previous posts on this topic, it seems that many users with I. E. 9 have this problem with the New Posts page. It seems that the answer would be to either switch back to I. E. 8 (if that is possible on Windows 7; I use Windows Vista) or switch to Firefox. I have disabled the I. E. 9 update on this computer and am still at I. E. 8.

I got bitten by the IE 9 bug and promptly switched to Fire Fox.
That solved my problem once and for all.

Firefox is the answer to all your problems, most of us use it these days :wave:

Thanks, didn't realise it had been previously addressed. I must say I don't like IE 9 very much, some pointless changes. I'll probably go back to IE 8.

I just installed IE 9 yesterday. Saw this post and tried the "New Posts" tab. I must say mine works fine. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. So far I have not seen any issues with IE 9 with this forum or any other internet sites.

You're lucky so far, and I thought the same at first as well, Paul. Have you tried anything that uses Flash, among other plug-ins?

That's when the stuff hit the fan...

H'mm, if it can be made to work I'd rather stick with IE9. I imported my settings from my previous IE8. This is the only problem I've had so far.

Ironic, I'm typing this at the Microsoft Convention, maybe I should ask Mr Ballmer when I pin the mic on him.................

I allowed Windows 7 update to install IE9 (was using IE8) and I saw a minimal user interface that seemed to require more work than IE8. After about 15 minutes, I said "what is the benefit of this?" I read the Microsoft reasons why IE9 was better, and it seemed to have no relevance to the world I live in, nor did it make any sense to me.

So I reverted to IE8. Of course, now I have to deselect IE9 when doing Windows 7 updates. If anyone can explain why IE9 is better, let's hear it.

Yeah, seems like a graphical user interface that is minimalist in appearance is "modern" these days, huh?

You can right-click an update in the update list in Windows Update and select "Hide Update" to disable it. I did this with the IE9 update when it popped up. I think that it popped up again a little while afterward, so I disabled it again, and now it has been a while since then and I am still happily using IE8. However, I am still watching my back in case it pops up again, for it could very well do so some time if it did it once.
