What has happend to the forum, at one time you could post a question and get an answer, not now. I posted a question yesterday about not being able to download trainz 2009 routes on the dls, all I got was one reply from 116 who loked at it. I also looked at other questions people sent in and found two more with no replys three with one and so on.

What has happend to forum members, have they given up helping fellow members. I thought the forum members were there to help each other, I must have been wrong. And yes I am ready for all the stick that is going to come back at me, but it had to be said.

Dunno, but there isn't as much traffic around at the moment though. Could be for a few reasons:

A bit of decent weather at last, spring jobs around the house/garden, year end looming for those with businesses, everybody happy playing, patching TS2010, etc

Did my answer sort your problem?

At one time the majority of us were all using the same version, then the two versions, 04 and 06. These days we are all split into much smaller groups of the many versions on offer which makes it less likely to get the dozens of answers as in the good ol days.

Plus there are those who get shirty if in trying to help, you tell them something they already knew or have tried.

This is the most logical reason I can think of. Another would be that problems with the DLS are literally taking over this forum, and the regular users such as me never bother to read them.

Deano5 and Johnk have given logical answers , and I would add that the one answer you did receive to your other thread seemed to be a logical answer .
Why would anyone post an additional reply , unless they disagreed ?

I usually pop in when I see a help question, but I was busy all day building a new computer. I didn't poke into the forums until late yesterday. Right now I'm patching and importing my Local folder into me fresh install.

John and Deano have some logical answers. I have to admit that the weather has been really nice the past couple of days here. Way up in the high teens and low 20s. I should really be outside instead of installing software. :)

I made the leap from TRS2004 to TS2010 so I was unable to help those with problems with all the versions in between. The few help questions that I have posted have all received answers-whether one or ten.

The one thing I have noticed about the forum is that the posts asking for help have shifted from content creation to problems with the software. When Auran started introducing new versions so often, people were still trying to overcome problems with a previous version when a new one(with more problems) appeared on the scene. This definitely fragmented the forum as already mentioned.

It's still a great place to visit and get help.

I have also recently noticed a number of posts written in a form of English that I do not understand. And I am not referring to posts from non english speaking countries. Those I understand and most are very well composed.

I must admit I don't help as much as I used to. Mostly I read a post, smile to myself and think 'if only they would use the search function...' and go on to the next one. Badly spelt or grammatically incorrect posts get ignored anyway.

I don't even promote the Blender tutorials that I wrote, on the basis that if people can't find them then they wouldn't be able to use Blender anyway.

It will only get worse.

Many major school districts in the USA are set to lay off thousands of teachers due to economic reality. See the link below to see how many teachers are losing jobs.... just this month:

In Charlotte, NC, near where I live, the number of teachers to be let go is over 600..... read below:

A little poor grammar and spelling I can tolerate, but texting shortcuts drive me nuts and should be banned from the Forum.

Sorry

I normally like to help out, but with the extra projects and beta testing I am doing, I haven’t had much time for the forum, as I once had.

I posted a thread on March 20, 2010, and none have answered yet.

:'(
Oh, they answered now...:hehe:
