Flying Planes

dricketts

Trainz Luvr since 2004
I remember seeing a post about year ago about two animated planes that didn't need invisible track. They were created as regular objects then using the height tool could be placed in the sky to appear the are flying. I can't find them or the post for anything. Is anyone familiar with these?

Any help is appreciated.

Using Cyberstorms - Drivable Superadaptor, you can make any static plane flyable, on BNSF Invisatrack ... You could make any asset, drivable, or flyable, such as a flyable Steel Coil commodity, flying hay bale, or even a flyable PRR Signal (dumb as that might be).

You could even drive the NKP Berkshire in the sky !

Yeah but these were planes that didn't need track. Like putting an animated John Deere tractor 200 feet in the sky vs the ground. Same concept.

There are three types of planes out there for TRS. Some which are in fact trains (you find them under that menu) and they are driveable on track (invisible or not). Others are objects (usually found under 'buildings') they are not static non-driveable, cannot be attached to track. The only way to make them 'fly' is to adjust the height of them to stick them up in the sky, they will not move. The final type I've only seen once, it's with the built-in Airport, which is part of the Airport. To use those planes you have to use that ariport. The planes are animated to take off fly a loop and land again. Nothing about them can be adjusted.

Basically to find the planes your looking for look on the DLS for any airplane that isn't a "train"

High in the sky

.
The PanAm aircraft here is Boeing 727 kuid:152080:20541. It’s a loco, but set on invisible track so can be either run, or left as static on a short piece of invisible track.

I’ve also made it emit some pollution by adding a short length of spline FMA Smoke-on-the Fields 1 kuid:149987:67050. Obviously this only works well visually when left static, otherwise the trail will be left behind!

The FMA Smoke-on-the Fields series vary in shape and colour. Some are white, others slightly browner, although either type will look different depending on chosen background sky. I’ve criss-crossed four just above the station.

Also shown is another aircraft ”loco” just above the telegraph wires. It’s tiny, made to be placed at fairly low altitude, but giving the illusion of being high up. Same principle – run it on a loop of invisible track, or leave it static on a short length. Its vapour trail is part of the asset, therefore remaining attached when the plane is moving. It called distant aircraft kuid:119692:80033

Finally, if you’re looking for an invisible track which cannot be seen in Surveyor, try kuid:82100:23990. It’s can be tricky to work with though, and particularly difficult if you have several splines in the same area.

Cheers

Flying Planes.
I think the ones you refer to are on Trainz Pro under vehicles.
There are two Gypsy Moths & two Tiger Moths; show under Scenery in Trainz
I have the Gypsy Moths working but the Tiger Moths show missing kuid which I cannot find

I did download it and Bird Base from TPR! No visible mesh shows up either in game or in any of my mesh viewers, hence my query.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for.

The Gipsy Moths are showing in Trainz, no luck using the Tiger Moths.

Same here.

After getting the Gypsy Moths on my route they look great but how do you delete them or move them? I don't see any reference point even with the wire mesh view.
