I remember seeing a thread on the old forum
confused
that explained why a signal would repeatedly change its indication when a train or vehicle is placed in front of it. Unfortunately I can't remember the explanation! :'(
I have a main line and a loop alongside it which come together through a junction. In advance of the junction one signal controls the exit from the loop and one signal controls the exit from the main line through the junction. In addition to protecting the loop to main junction the loop signal also protects a siding junction between the main line junction.
In Surveyor the main line is clear but the default setting of the junction is for the main line; the default setting of the siding junction is for the loop. I have placed a locomotive and train on the loop at the signal. The junction is still set for the main but the loop signal keeps changing through the three 'official' aspects. Have I simply placed my cup of coffee on the wrong side of my desk or is it to do with where I place my tongue in my mouth?
Cheers
