Flamewars

 The Jointed Rail Goodies thread was several years old.

I was no longer serving a useful purpose and was a distraction due to posts that led nowhere.

I'm glad they closed it.

Any new JR releases will continue to be posted(and are welcome!), any problems related to the content presented in that thread should be directed to the appropriate forum community.

I agree. Who brings back a dead thread?! But that's just my opinion!

im starting to think no one wants me on the forums

Dude even though the pig picture is hurtful, don't let that bring you down! There should be better kindness on the forums than what all those other jerks say. just ignore them, that's how I get past hurtful threats directed at me. In the words of Andy Grammer: "You gotta keep your head up." That's the message I'm trying to get into ur head.

Sometimes I really do wonder if the forums are to help others or bash people and get mad at how they can't figure out something simple? You would think talking to others that love trains that us people could have a blast instead it seems all the time to get in a heated discussion over well I think this is better than that and the war begins.

The solution is simple. Everyone can just be friendly and respectful of others, and just remember that we have Trainzers of all ages here. We're not all 22, 35 87, 63, 12 or 8, and we're not all from the same part of the world or walk of life.

Cheers :)

AJ

Sorry M0ose. I just don't like the way you start new threads on stuff you want. People who do this are referred to as 'Gimme Pigs', hence the picture. I didn't mean to offend you.

Years ago, when I was trained as a moderator by an ISP with a large online community, I was taught that, it's ok for people to criticise the contents of a post, however it is not OK to criticise the poster as that's what invariably starts a flame war, everyone is entitled to their opinion or interpretation of whatever is being discussed, even if they are completely wrong!
In a nutshell it's better to discuss rather than argue, it also helps to just double check a post before submitting it, just to make sure it comes across as you intended and isn't misinterpreted, would you put it like quite like that if you were standing in front of the person? Occasionally, what is intended as a humorous comment comes across as a criticism, seen that a few times on here. ;)

If it's any consolation, this forum is incredibly well behaved compared to some of the message boards I had to deal with, trying to get the combatants to ignore each other was nigh on impossible, especially when you had groups of people joining in taking sides or complaining about the ongoing dispute or reporting every single post / poster they didn't like.

Ironic that the OP would start a thread on flame wars, having had a far higher than average number of their own threads locked.

That aside, sadly what is typed in jest on a forum may not translate in jest at the other end. Text messages can have the same effect, being completely misconstrued by the receipient. I should know, it almost caused my marriage never to happen. Oops.

And see I had started a war between myself, WCL and Ulmer94. That's why that thread got closed. We just need to respect each other!

@ heyrey - I figured I was kinda in the wrong there, too; I apologized and left the thread alone before it got closed.

And I'm very pleased u did say sorry. Unlike WCL who continued to argue!( as well as me) although me and WCL sorted things out so were good!
