Find scenarios for a route in DLS

I've downloaded some routes that look interesting, but I can't find a convenient way, or any way for that matter, to find sessions for those routes.

Find dependant assets is greyout out, so I guess it would only show me the sessions I have already.

Thanks,

Simplest way is to use the search filter, click the plus signs to open new filter blocks;

Put the name of the route author in one block, then category session in the next block, that will show all sessions uploaded by the author of the route. No guarantees on that, some do add which route and version the session is for in the description, some don't.

@philskene, any route really

@sniper297, thanks for the tip. I'm actually quite surprised with all the filter options available that the interface doesn't provide a way to find sessions related to a route. On second thought, I'm not that surprised ;)

Hi Vanguard --

Jim shows some of my sessions. You will find that I have routes and sessions on the Download Station. Just search with "philskene" as the author.

Make sure you get the correct versions - some are for TRS2004 - '09; some for '10; and the most recent for TS12.

All routes use only built-in content. If you have difficulty using Content Manager to capture dependencies, see my post #9 here:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=84619

A few sessions require external downloads. If this is the case read the text under the thumbnail, for instance:
All the dependencies needed by the session are on the Donwload Station, except for the locomotive and tender. They must be downloaded here:

https://rapidshare.com/files/1125639234/US_Loco_SP_CabForward_AC-12__4294_RapidShare.zip

Unzip, install and use Content Manager to capture the additional dependencies needed by the locomotive from the Download Station.

I suspect that the reason "Find dependent assets" is greyed out is because the route you've chosen doesn't have any dependent assets, that is to say, there are not yet sessions on the DLS for that route.

As an alternative to sniper 297's choice of parameters, I'd suggest setting the first search parameter to "category" and "routes", the second search parameter to "OR", and the third parameter to "category" and "sessions". This will bring up all assets which are either a route or a session, which when run with the TS10 CM, gives almost 2500 matches. And every route I checked (which was not all) which also had sessions, had "find dependent assets" in normal, not greyed out, type.

As oknotsen's post points out, it will only show sessions which are already downloaded.

philskene, your nice routes get enough publicity they haven't been hard to find ;)

Thanks for the tips/help all.

Not so. If you use the parameter settings I suggested, and add the parameter "Location" set to "Download Station", you will see all of the routes and sessions on the DLS. If you want only sessions, of course, omit the parameters for Category / Routes, and "OR".

Here's an example, using the parameters you suggested:

I right clicked on hundreds of them, no dice. The screenshot in question has the dependency sitting right above it...
