Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland WIP

Looking like a top end route with lots of good detail, much like how i'm doing mine, so its what I like to see! :D

Just need some activities with it, do the Ffestiniog locos with Tc3+ now? Thought of driving those kinda locos in cab mode across this route does excite me!

Also, where did you get that lovely grey wall! (Seen best in the first few shots)

David

It's probably an FMA Old Stone wall, the one alongside the track at Blaenau I'm guessing, the one with the with the top, most of the others I knocked up myself.

Cab mode, yes something I forgot about with my Loco's I just run everything using AI, I've just cobbled together basic cabs for Lyd and Mountaineer, only as far as working cab controls are concerned I havent got a clue yet! Seems at least in TS12 if the aren't any cab controls that work you are stuck with DCC.

Edit: Actually if its the wall on the first page on the current Screenshots it's one of mine I have several different heights and tops some with wire fence on. The roads are mine as well as I got fed up with oversized tarmac roads at the wrong height for traffic, so these don't have that sinking feeling, there is an assortment of different widths some with verges and pavements, no junctions as such yet, at the moment I've just bodged and most of the house and cottages are ones I knocked up due to the shortage of buildings with slate tiles.

They will be heading to the DLS at some point

Thanks for the track it looks good with the engines and the route I have started.
The ballast you are using is it yours or someone else if someone else can you give me the name of the ballast or if it's yours then I will try to find it on DLS

I see you have managed to reach Blaenau then? Nice one mate and it's looking fantastic, Thinking of doing the RYTC tour to Blaenau Ffestiniog in the summer with 48151. Should be good!
Can't wait to see the route released!
Matt

Mine, not on the DL yet as still awaiting aproval, however I've just put a cdp containing all 5 of my ballast textures on media fire, rather large files I'm afraid as high res with normals. http://www.mediafire.com/?cq84ek2wzpc2o64

I had a feeling you made it yourself, Malc. What about those embankment ends, like you have in the screenshot of that steel bridge just before the Ffestiniog meets with the standard gauge line?

All embankments, ends, nearly all the bridges and such like are again "home made" Some of the bridges are custom made to specifically, fit due to the awkward arrangement of the things such as NG and SG bridge with a road junction in the middle.

There are around 700 odd items I've made myself used in the route so far.

Latest item is I've now got working are the ladybird signals, peculiar to FR / WHR in case anyone's wondering.

Clam1952are you aware that they have altered Porthmadog harbour station to have the WHR trains to stay in the station at the same time as the FR engines? They have done this by extenting the platform longer and have made the cob wider.

Yes already considering that, I actually have the plans for it although its not supposed to be active until 2013 Time lapse video on the progress here http://www.festrail.co.uk/frtv-cob.htm as the Webcam is off line at the moment.

I may just incorporate it early!

According to their press release this is still work in progress. The Cob widening is due to be finished by March but the new platforms are not due to be constructed until next winter. Oh okay well I didn't know that you knew I just thought you should know that's all anyway I hope all is going well with the route and keep the brilliant work up.

Does anyone know if Kevin Martins still around? coz i would like to ask him if i can release a reskin of his ng16 as all three are nearly finished.
l post some screen shots of them tomorrow.
Thanks
Patrick

No Kevin is Kevmt. Belken is Ken Bell who is no longer active on here.

Kevin was having bad health problems last time I heard anything, I emailed him a while back though so the address in the licence is still valid.
