I can't even start up driver in TS2009 anymore!! I updated to TS2009 SP4 and now when I go to surveyor and from there to driver it loads the bar on the side and then sends me back to surveyor and the same thing in driver I press load it loads up the bar and takes me back to the menu!! Now I can't even drive a freaking thing in my game!! Trainz sucks Railworks is better no matter what you all say because it's false!!

If you like arcade games, and since I bought railworks2 last night I will agree it's at least as good visually as Trainz 2009.

But it has nothing on 2010 and definitely nothing on TS12.

Not even close to TS12 visually or realistically or in versatility. But compared to 2009 it's a pretty even matchup.

I'm also almost gettign fed up. I jus wasted over 9MB downloading a demo layout that doesn't even show in the content manager for TS2010.

Which one?

ETA: Never mind, saw your post in another forum.

It downloaded and runs just fine for me.

But part of the problem is that bnsf50 just posted a new version earlier tonight, so version :1 is showing up as "obsolete" but there is no substitute yet. But the new version is on the black pages. That's the one I ran.

Okay, so go buy Railworks.

What you'll probably find is that it looks more realistic than Trainz, has about the same amount of bugs and problems, and does a pretty good job of simulating British passenger train operations.

Once you get fed up with that, call Geek Squad.

Have a guy come out to your house, overhaul your computer and make him swear a blood oath that there are NO viruses, trojans, spyware or adware on your machine, all unnecessary "fluff" programs like music jukeboxes, google toolbars, and java automatic updates have been removed. Then uninstall and reinstall Trainz, TEST THE BASIC INSTALLATION ONLY to make sure it works before you start adding downloads to it. Then start adding stuff to it, testing between each addon, if you find a problem you'll know which addon to look at.

G'day!

Looks like we've got us another Railworks fanboy. :hehe:

I'm sorry. Does this happen with EVERY route? Or a certain one? First off, I'd back up your local folder which contains all your content, then do an uninstall and reinstall see if that helps! :) And by the way, please don't say Trainz sucks. I know you're frustrated but there isn't any need to say things like that.

Cheers! :)

Jake.

After reading both threads from this person 'Kris94', they strike me as the sort that would buy a hamburger, tip a pound of salt on it, then declare that "so & so's burgers are totally inedible".

My tip to you Kris94, is sort your own computer out before blaming something that thousands are running with little problem.

Very sharp and cutting, but possibly true! :hehe:

@Kris94
I hope you have a lot of money, because most things are payware, and if you are missing just one item then the routes in Railworks will not load or start, worse than in Trainz2009. At least most of the time in Trainz all you need to do is remove missing dependences and then add your own train.

See you in a couple of weeks back on here under possibly a new name?:'(

Regards.

I was gonna write that almost word for word, but I've been accused lately of being abusive and offensive so I figured I would tone it down:hehe:

But since he is running 2009 he'll probably see the same performance between the two, and graphically they're pretty similar. Of course if he really wants stunning graphics and realism, he needs two things 1. TS12 and 2. A computer capable of running TS12 if he doesn't have both those things he wouldn't be happy, who knows maybe he wouldn't be happy anyway:confused:

A bad workman always blames his tools. Try a little less slander and bit more tweaking at your end as this is obviously where the problem lies. ;)

The key is that you updated to sp4. I did and ended up reinstalling and only updating to sp3. Sp 4 gave me lots of grief before I got rid of it.

Let's bash railworks, let's bash trainz, let's bash the pc,let's bash self. Now that, that is done how about trying the logical thing? Being cool and start from your pc. 1. Make sure it can handle any train sim game out there past or present. 2. Completly uninstall everything having to do with auran/trainz etc. 3. Defrag your HD and clean out system files. 4. Turn off any anti-virus,firewalls. 5. Close any running programs. 6. Reinstall trainz and any service packs before running trains. 7. Do a complete database scan/repair before running trainz. 8. After all of this your trainz should run good. With any trainz version that I have run I've always done this before running trainz and have had no problems afterwards. If after all of this you're still having problems however... well then.....Trash the pc,buy a new one and buy TS12 and you'll be set.

He obviously didn't take my advice in the other Trainz-bashing thread of his. I got the same error; that cleared it right up.
