Get over it
Just a random thought here. Just activated my FCT and it's been stated here on the forum many times that it takes about 24 hrs before it's ready to go. Should we be getting a 1 year and a day subscription for our fee? Why does it take 24 hrs to become active. With all the technology available I'm thinking an hour at the most. Just my two cents.

I just tried again and my download speed is 5.5KBps if I'm lucky. Activated the ticket this afternoon, going on 6 hrs. Maybe by tomorrow morning it will be good to go.

On a side note. Check out my post on page four. Mine and the one below it are missing things and we have a moved label in the left hand column. Any explanation?

What is stated & tends to be the case is not that it takes 24hrs to activate. But that it can take up to 24hrs to activate.

Known "problem". Clean your download list so that there are no longer things in the list you want to download. Remove your username+pw from the options. Close the game completely and be sure that every process related to it has stopped running (can take a few minutes). Restart the game, re-enter username+pw, welcome to higher speed downloading.

Yes, I expect the '24 hours' is just NV3's safeguard, in case the servers are running slow. It is just so people do not get annoyed if the FCT does not activate instantly.

Did you clear your download wish list cache ?

And click "Activate Ticket" at Planet Auran.

Did the transaction actually go through, and show up as an unactivated ticket ?

Since the clock doesn't start on the ticket until it is activated, why would you expect and extra day.? You will get your year from the time it's activated, an inactive ticket doesn't lose time as far as I know. I had a ticket sit for a week or so before I activated it and it will expire 1 year from when it went live, not when I bought it.

Thanks everyone for responding. I did click on the "Activate Ticket" and it didn't seem to be working when I tried downloading. I thought that I had read that it might take 24 hrs before it actually became active, that's why I thought about the extra day. Really, not a big deal, I just threw that in. What I did was to clear my list and update my password. That worked. This is not my first FCT ticket and never had to jump through hoops to get it to work. Thanks again.

the way I understand it, is that it sometimes takes up to 24hrs for the various servers around the web to get the updated information (basically CMP is pulling your login data from a cache) by re-logging in you force CMP to go to the server & retrieve the new data. 24hrs is a normal amount of time for a your computer to update it's cache.
