Evening Rush in Highland

Howdy folks,

Been a while since I posted some screens of my Highland Valley - New Haven Image Map. So, I went out after supper and scoped out the line from Lumby to Highland Falls.

An EMU set from Greenwood approaches Lumby. These older EMU's have AC/DC capacity and use it every day. The line from the Coyote Point Jct. to Lumby has third rail to adapt for NYC EMU's. The line to Greenwood has catenary for the NH's electric equipmemt.

On the center track is an EMU set departing from layover to head to Coyote Point and bring commuters over the branch to the Hudson Line and into Grand Central Terminal.

I went to the Coyote Point Jct. to see if there was any action and sure enough there was a threeway meet.

A C425 and RS11 drag some cargo bound for Greenwood to be sorted.

I climb over the bank to find the line's work train, holding the C425 back at Coyote Point, bring the breakdown set back to Greenwood.

While watching the work train, a familiar whistle blows in the distance. One of the last steamers on the line brings the night's last excursion over the bridge in front of Highland Falls.

The excursion approaches the crossover and gently rolls across.

An interesting camera view showing a red signal protecting the work train that just passed.

The train stops at the recently built boat launch station, a simple stone platform with a staircase that leads to a dock where passengers can board a tour boat that runs through the Highland Lake.

The lightweight at the end of the train is for passengers who pay extra to ride in luxury. The money from the tickets goes to keeping the four remaining steam locomotives on the line.

Last Ones for Tonight...

The evening's express to GCT brings it's mostly lightweight train over the bridge. This train will go to Lumby where the FA's will run-a-round and bring the train back to Coyote Point and eventually, the Hudson Line.

Well, I'm glad some people like my route building. According to a few community members, I have no talent or experience.

Thanks folks,
I'll try to get some more screens tonight.

Screenies look awesome, but like anything put in the public eyes, there are always people that are not happy unless they rain on your parade ... Just ignore those ...

This is looks really good! I hope you use my updated 3rd rail track though! It looks so much better now.

Keep up the good work!
