I generally put a little bit of ballast texture underneath my tracks so the transition between track and roadbed isn't quite so abrupt (just a little, mind you, I use the smallest diameter "brush"), but it is HIS route, he can do what he wants!

Personally, I think it looks just fine the way he's doing it. Keep up the good work!

Yea - the ballast thing. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. No ballast ground texture does give an abrupt edge, but the way texture gets applied in Trainz ground texture ballast hardly ever looks 'right', it finishes up too wide and the saw-tooth edge if the track cuts the grid at an angle just looks wrong and it can't always be blended convincingly. In general I try for a 'dead grass' look along the track edge and just leave ballast ground textures alone...

The grass that features mostly is 400260:100205 by tram__. I think it's on the DLS but can't check, the black pages seem to be down. I'm honestly not sure what its heritage is, it has (JVC) in the username, but credits Trunda for the texture in the config. Whatever it is it's brilliant! Looks good and 5 LODs give it so little performance 'hit' that you can splash it around quite liberally. There are about a dozen colours with kuids around the number quoted. If it isn't on the DLS let me know ad I will dig out a link...

As usual, looking great!

...............back to "patiently waiting" mode.:)

Second that...Dermmy, it's your fault I have 0.00% of my fingernails left now!!! :D:hehe:

Awesome pic Andy, Folk's you defiantly will not be disappointed with this Route when it is released. Personal opinion here but it would be Andy's best work to date and the amount of work he has put into it and with the Jointedrail Freebie's i think this Route could of been Payware material. Keep at it Dermmy your almost there mate.
Cheers Mick.

It's one of Frank's - available here. Good as downloaded in 06 and 10 Comp Mode. In Native Mode or TS12 it needs a bit of work but if I can get it going almost anyone can :)

I already got it working in 12, (I also got the RI GP38-2 from USLW working in 12) and I got almost all of the sporbust content working in 12

The beta lads have had their fun and I've got the release cdp sitting on my desk top! Just waiting for the JR lads to work some kinks out at their end and then it's all yours :).

I just want to point out though that the last few screenies (which are imho the best Surveyor work I have ever done) are from EVWR-2, not the upcoming release.

Speaking of EVWR-2, the same train as above caught a couple of hours later headed back to West Virginia for more black diamonds....
