Error problem

What can I do to fix this?

Error: The primary and alpha texture are not the same size for 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TRS2006/local/content augspqa8764/mesh_body/grate-grate_alpha.texture.txt'

Change the texture sizes to be the same making sure the sizes are powers of 2 (use GIMP or similar for this).

Alternatively tell the author and ask him or her to upload a fixed version.

Deleting the asset could lead to other problems such as assets with missing dependencies so it is probably better to fix it as Paul has suggested.

This is a very easy fix and could be a good introduction to fixing assets in Trainz.

For us to give you more detailed help we need to know the name of the asset and or its kuid, what you have given does not really help.

Agree better fixed, then archive if you want to get rid of it

Use this site search: site:youtube.com Making an alpha channel using GIMP

HOWEVER, Chances are, you just need to check the Primary is a power of 2 in height and width, then resize the BMP (presumed) of the alpha to that in Paint.

See This Wikbook page: Fixing Asset Errors which I've been evolving this past six months fixing about a 1,200+ errors. The first example resolution will leave thumbs in CM looking like crap, but is a good and dirty method to get on with.
Unlike Config.txt using a hack-hack at a begin line ('//') works fine in a texure.txt file, so you can just comment them out and experiment. Then restore. Don't know what your interest is, but running PEVtools images2tga NEVER hurts, and often does much good. If in TRS2006, you must install the batch file (copy from ..\bin...\tools\openwith eg: D:\Auran\TRS2009-SP4\bin\CMPData\tools\OpenWith is one of my paths) in your editing folder and then drag and drop. PEV's tools won't install directly into TRS2006 like they autoinstall in newer versions. PM me if that's your case. Otherwise, just copy them up frm one of those newer versions folders. (I have copies in all my \editing folders--drag and drop! Fast!)

Bookmark that, and learn to site search and site search this thread in particular: http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?56002-Listing-of-Errors-and-How-to-Fix-Them

IrfanView vice GIMP is easier to use in a simple resizing an can convert back and forth to any formats we use... and is far easier to master. The thumbnails feature and renaming and file moving alone make it a great addition to a Trainz toolbox.

Good luck. // Frank

On occasion, I send them a fixed version and ask them to do that! (Ask Lothar!) If more people'd done that with TS2009 and later... the DLS would be pretty cleaned up by now. // Frank

The other error says....
Error: Could not load texture 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TRS2006/local/content augspqa8764/mesh_body/int=masked'.
It is a railcar I had downloaded "60 ft Boxcar TTX Ver2" <kuid:206307:100423:1>
I'm really grateful for all the assistance.

- In ContentManagerPlus open the asset for editing in the explorer
- Check all .texture.txt files in the mesh_body folder
- Delete the line starting with AlphaHint=
- Commit the asset again in ContentManagerPlus

What he says, but I just comment it in case I take it back up to a newer version. Given the prices, Grab TS2009 while you can--it's a version of TRS2006 with some good pluses with the one drawback of TADdaemon still being a lingering app. Just wait 5 minutes then reboot or shut down-- or look at Task Manager or procexp's processes to see when TADdaemon goes to bed.

Sorry I was else wise busy. But I'm easy to reach via skype, feel free. Ironically, I just added this box tonight here! in the Wikibook. Errr, make that last night! // Frank
