Apparently this is not an issue for N3V. It doesn't seem to matter to them if there is a check and balance system in place for the moderators.

I dont see your point here. never once have I seen a Moderator "get out of balance". In fact I get alot of help from Mods and they are always nice about things.

My suggestion to new folks is to enjoy Trainz but stay away from the Trainz Forums. It will only be a matter of time before a moderator take what you said wrong or are just plain power hungry or just doesn't like you...

Really? The forums are a great place to be and are better than what you are saying. And again you are accusing Mods for going power hungry. Dude, the mods are really understanding. Again I have never had a case where a mod has gotten power hungry or has done something because they dont like someone. They are always willing to help out. Your throwing out lies to other people.

I now know for a fact there that some people here that can get away with calling people names and being disrespectful while other can not.

I can relate to this but I have found out the Good old report button is helpful in getting their attention.

you will find that N3V doesn't care about your issues so don't expect anything otherwise.

OMG! Ok, thats crap. They do care about your issues. They were some of the first people to help me when I first got Trainz 2010. They walked me and mom through it and we got it working really good. They were great in helping us out.
So in conclusion, your obviously a special case for N3V. I have never had any trouble with anyone from here and now Im on the edge of my seat because of you. Your basically implying that because a mod got mad at you the forums suck and that N3V is bad because you cant have your way. In all honesty, I think people have the right to not care for your problems right now because right now, I dont believe anything you just put up there against N3V and Im sure a few others would agree wth me.

If no moderator on here has messaged me, knocked points on my account, or anything else after half of the stuff I've posted here so far, you must have REALLY done something wrong to have them on your tail.

Actually, I beg to differ. I am starting to see an increase in the amount of people here who are either smartasses who are just here to put people down or people who are only rude to others.

The helpdesk is useless. Since the helpdesk has been changed, I have put in three tickets and I have gotten zero replies. The wort part is that I am not the only person this is happening to.

You can buy stuff and have the points go towards discounting that particular item, Kinda like a loyalty program so to speak :o.
Cheers Mick.:hehe:
P.S No its not really like a loyalty program at all before sum young clown decides to try it out, You get so many points accumulated and hey presto your outa here.

Lol. That made me laugh Mick! I can just see some of them trying to get the points right now! :udrool:

Regards.

Personally, I find the larger problems not in N3V's control. Most of the issues are user-generated via selfishness, stubbornness, or just bad people skills.

Oh well, thats what you get from people who have a 'hiding spot' behind a computer screen.

What I find truly tragic though is that no one has learned their lesson. It took me a while to learn mine, but within a few weeks back I felt out all the newbies and befriended said "trolls." Half the time someone just needs a friend around here to talk to.

At times I have seen red with the actions of Auran N3V, but no matter how mad they make me the Help Desk has always been prompt efficient and extremely helpful.
I know at times it can be overrun with queries, but all it takes is a bit o' patience and a drop of the water of life.

Sadly, this forum has been overtaken by those who think any discussion outside of what they feel relevant is useless. This is a place for all users of this program to come and express their interests. The program covers a wide range spanning continents both real and fantasy. All ages are represented as well. Only "flame wars" start with the users themselves. One poster in this thread stated some "deserve" it. Who makes that call? We have a CoC. We have moderators. Most complaints I see are people screaming someone posted a thread they don't like. Often to the point of personal attacks on that poster.

That poster is still a user of this program. His interests may be different but still a user. Don't like the thread, don't put your curser over it and click. Forum "problems" are self induced. Nothing more.

That's just it though, and what this thread is about. It seems that some, if not all the people that do make "the call" about whether or not something is a CoC violation, seem to have different "standards".

Just recently, I had a mundane disagreement with someone over the symantics of the name of a company, because he jumped on someone else, claiming they were wrong, even though they were partially correct (four companies have similar names, and if not spelled out entirely, they are universally the same, although actually all independant: for example; Acme, or; Acme-A division of Zerrex, or; Acme Screw and Thread, or; Acme Fasteners).
--Joe says a Bolt is an "Acme" bolt, but Fred says "NO, your wrong, look here {link to Acme Screw and Thread website}, it is NOT an 'Acme-A Division of Zerrex bolt' ".
----Joe is correct, it is an Acme bolt, but not the "Acme" that Fred considers "THE Acme", Acme-A Division of Zerrex, but instead an "Acme Screw and Thread" Acme bolt.
--I get called profane names and "put down" for pointing out the sillyness of Fred correcting Joe, when Joe is actually not "wrong", and all the Moderator does is say "keep it civil"...even after being warned "Fred" still continues to harrass and call me names...even using profanity...to this day, the posts, comments and thread still exist...seemingly being ignored by Moderators and Administrators, after being reported repeatedly.

I know a former moderator who would have issued infractions to all parties involved, even though only one of us was breaking the CoC, now I see the other end of the spectrum, where it appears anything goes these days, and no one gets reprimanded, and profane posts are allowed to stand.

No one is always able to moderate at all times though. I've pulled 24-hour days before, and its not fun. I think largely the problem is that people nowadays, mainly the younger generation, like myself, have not always learned the proper way to speak/talk etc. Even i am guilty of running afoul of that. But whining and crying just bc you don't get what you want only alienates people from the person doing it. Learn patience, don't be so uptight, and relax. Enjoy life for what it is and what you have. Life could be much worse for a lot of us. So instead of hollering, attacking, and doing whatever else, lets all try to get along, be respectful, and learn some patience. Y'all have a good night now, and try not to run each other over with a steam engine...........we really don't need anyone hurt lol.

I agree with this but to be honest this is not really the reason I starting this thread.

The real problem is the "god" complex some moderators here seem to have. What was done to me was plain wrong, and this company doesn't seem to want to do anything about it. According to the worthless helpdesk here, they don't even want to hear what the problem is! I was told by Tony Hilliam to step away for a while and cool my head. Well, Mr. Hilliam, I did just that and guess what, the problem is still there. Since your company doesn't want to deal with this customer satisfaction issue, I will take it upon myself to keep bringing up the issue every chance I get until the moderator that cause the problem as well as the helpdesk person are removed from their duties. Of course you know this won't happen because one thing that this company will not do is admit that they are wrong.
So sit down folks and grab a bag of popcorn...it's gonna be a long movie.

I dont get it, if you hate the company and/or the customer support or whatever it is, why not leave? I mean, you wont have to deal with people like me or the "mean old moderators". You can still have fun playing trainz AND... Yes thats right folk, I said and... you wont have to deal with the "crap" everyone is giving you. You dont have to be on the forums to have fun with trainz, unless, somewhere deep deep down, you actually enjoy the forums... And your just doing this for attention..so what if Im wrong. :/ I dont know. I just want an explanation.

That is the complete opposite of what Zec, the guy who runs the helpdesk said on the last page. Have you even tried contacting them back? Based off from Zec's post it sounded like the new guy working there didn't know that issues with mods had to go to the helpdesk & told you the wrong information.

I'll admit I don't know the ins and outs of all that happened, but based off from what I've read as an outsider to the issue reading this thread. It really seems like your over reacting a bit. You weren't banned, or put on post moderation. At most it sounds like you may have had a post or two removed, and at the least got some infraction points. It's not the end of the world. Hell I have a few infraction points, but that doesn't stop me from contributing to the community here.
