Engines Wishlist for Jointed Rail.

How about F45/FP45s? Preferable schemes would include GN, BN, UTAH, ATSF, MRL, and NYSW. I am aware that there are some on the DLS (and they are awesome), but it would be nice to see some... "upgraded" versions.

While teetering on the edge of blaspheme by saying I'm not a NS fan, but that is a nice looking paint job.

I can't speak for the fire and ice idea, but I see those flames as actually a close-up of the Norfolk Southern horse's mane.
And, yes, those are very nice looking locomotives. My $.02 (CDN.)

Chadd04, is the picture representing fire & ice, as per the color of the flame edge?

The colored fringes of the "flames" (which are actually supposed to be mane from NS's horsehead logo) actually represent the shops that the locomotives were rebuilt at. (If you aren't familiar with the story behind the AC44C6Ms, NS is rebuilding their fleet of C40-9s into what's basically an ES44AC with the body of an AC4400CW.) The tuscan red mane of #4002 represents the Roanoke shops in Roanoke, VA, while the blue mane of #4004 represents the Juniata shops in Altoona, PA; it's my understanding that both were painted at the Juniata paint shop. (Both shops are rebuilding one more unit each. #4003 is being rebuilt in Roanoke, and #4005 in Altoona.) The two units, #4000 and #4001, that we all saw pictures of towards the end of last year (blue "bonnets" with golden yellow lined manes) were contracted to GE, however, GE contracted most of the work to American Motive Power. The 12 units that GE is currently contracted to rebuild entirely are going to be painted in the standard NS "Horsehead" paint scheme. There are 22 units that are planned to be rebuilt in Altoona in 2017, but I haven't found any information that would indicate that they will receive the same paint scheme as #4002 and #4003. (I would imagine that they would receive the standard "Horsehead" scheme like the 12 GE units.)

I believe I got all that info correct. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Four counts? That should be good for a burning at the stake. Ahhh..... the good old days.

I do miss Monty Python.

Regards,

Thanks Phil (or Philip) for that info. I thought those "flames" were the NS Horsehead's mane.
But what significance is the red for the Roanoke built units and blue for the Juniata built units (if there is any)?

I would imagine that the blue for the Juniata units would be a reference to Conrail (since Conrail owned the Juniata Shops after it was formed of the remains of Penn Central). I'm not sure about the tuscan red and Roanoke, but it could be a reference to the maroon color that the N&W used for their passenger cars and early diesels.

Regards,

Unfortunately due to a low budget, we are unable to afford a good stake burning. We have hopes that simultaneous use of soft cushions and a comfy chair shall suffice.

Yes, wishful thinking perhaps. But as you guys are apparently doing Aussie and Ukrainian stuff now, I thought I might as well suggest it. New UK diesels, payware or freeware, come along once in a full moon nowadays. Any of these locos would be big sellers. I have drawings for 'Falcon', Gas Turbine 18000 and (I think) the D63xxs and I could easily source drawings for the other classes.

I should have added the Class 56s, 'Warships' and Class 15s/16s. Even the Class 20 model we have now is looking dated, so perhaps that should be thrown on the pile too. Really, with UK diesels, the only ones to a modern standard with a detailed custom cab and everything are the Deltics, Classes 31/47/40/45/D6xx/14/29/23 and the CoBos (not sure about the cab situation on those last ones though)
